  • That for years schools like Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, and UNC have held themselves above all others as some sort of beacon of "what's right" in college sports? And surprise, surprise all four have had major scandals in the last 2 years.

Tressel plays it buy the book...except when he continually covered up NCAA violations

Manti Te'o had a heartwarming story that propelled him and his team to awards and honors....except that it was all made up and the school tried to cover it up

UNC is a prestigious university that holds it athletes to higher standards than other schools....except for the fact that they had practically and entire program set up to pass athletes along

Joe Paterno was an example of the perfect coach/leader of men...except for the fact that he and high level admins knew about child rape and did nothing to stop it.

All these schools are hypocrites of the highest order. They can say what they want about the SEC but none of our schools ever tried to pull any stunts like these.

Should have put a disclaimer about Auburn in there. Ha

Just find it funny that these schools that go around puffing their chests are the one committing the most heinous violations.

Hey. Some dudes got cheap rates. When we found out about it we admitted to it and paid the punishment. There was no cover-up and we never did the kind of stuff that went on at other places.

The SEC may cheat a little, but I haven't seen anything this egregious come out of the conference.

  • Yep you're right, SEC is as clean as it gets...

Auburn, not even talking about Cam Newton and his daddy, wasn't Auburn on probabtion when they went undefeated with Bowden coaching them.

Wasn't Tennessee and Bruce Pearl in sometype of hot water with the NCAA.

And Arkansas had a coach with a wife and a mistress, and then they got a coach that could even remember the team he was talking about.

And Kentucky has Calapari, the coach that leaves and then the school suffers NCAA sanctions, just ask Memphis.

And wasn't there some talk about Alabama players and a tailor...

Yo JoetheOrge... when you start point fingers about other schools you are tempting carma to bitch slap you up the side of the head.

The transgressions of the SEC schools seem pretty mild by comparison. And there has not been a sense of superiority towards other schools for the last several decades.

LOL at the suggestion that southern schools will cover each other up.

I'm just glad that Jim Tressel, Joe Paterno, UNC academics, and the Notre Dame propaganda machine have all been exposed for the frauds they are.

FWIW, Paterno did what he preached which was graduate players, win football games and not cheat. No one ever addressed him about the "other stuff", so you can't really call him a fraud.

    Just sayin.

no way. google Albert Means. Tennessee set up a very elaborate scheme to catch Bama offering $200,000 to Mean's coach.

We also turned in Tennessee and Kiffen a couple years ago for sending the prostitutes...sorry Orange Pride girls...to Lattimores HS and reserving a room and inviting players back to it after their HS game. Kiffypoo the pimp.

    Yet UT turned in Bama
    UF turned in UT
    SC turned in UT
Miss St. turned in Auburn(tried to)

You really think Alabama would cover up Auburn? FSU/UF? South Carolina/Clemson?

Those schools despise each other and would stop at nothing to expose one another.

Tennessee would be the exception. But look at the Cam Newton investigation. All of a sudden that trail went COLD and all of a sudden no one had any information and the dad was willing to fall on the sword. Again, I'm not mad because I know that's how it is down there.

Well, he was very good at those three things, but he made one BIG mistake which is unforgivable. The Hagiography of Paterno turned out to be fraudulent.

Alright, but that "sainthood" belief was held outside of PSU as well. The media kind of placed that on him.

Still doesn't change that what he stood for was valid and true. The fradulent part were how people precieved him... not what he professed he was. Therefor, you cannot say he was a fraud.

Ok. I guess fraud is a poor choice of words, most of that was placed on him by outside sources. I will say instead that he is just a poor excuse for a human being.
