Anyone ever seen a ghost?

  • My Mom told me a crazy one not too long ago. When she was a little girl in the early 60's she used to go up & stay with her great Grand Mother up in the coal region of PA in the summers.
Anyway, she said she used to play with her little cousin who was called Buster & sit on her Great Grandpas lap on the porch. She said every night around dusk they would walk hand in hand off into the woods & she would go inside to her Great Grandma & go to bed. They would be there outside every morning when she woke up & she & Buster would go & play. This happened for 3 summers. The last time she went up before her Great Grandma passed, she noticed that Buster & her Great Grandpa were nowhere to be found. So she asked her Great Grandma where they were & she looked stunned & told her both had passed a good 10 years before she was born. Buster who was named Peter & nick named Buster had died at 7 years old after drowning & her Great Grandpa died of natural causes while out hunting. My Mom cried while telling me this, I know she wasn't lying. Crazy sh!t!

    Second that-that's creepy

What brought me to that conclusion. One day we came home from visiting and we have a picture of my great grandmother and my daughter pointed at the picture and said i seen her at mamaws working. So i called my grandmother and she started tellin me about seeing her mother sometimes. She would catch a glimpse of her whenever she was looking in the mirror. Really creepy stuff. I loved my great grandmother alot and i you've love to see her.
Also whenever my wife was pregnant with my daughter she would wake up in the middle of the night and claimed there was a man in a tuxedo standing at the end of our bed. I never seen anything though. She said one time the man sat down on the end of the bed. After she had my daughter she never seen him again. I have heard that spirits are drawn to unborn children but never thought anything about it until that took place. I truly believe it now though

BTW, I did not believe in ghosts before this experience. Never even gave them a thought.

i had a similar experience when i was 9-mid 1990's. my family owns 400+ acres in a small county in middle georgia - about 20 minutes north of Georgia College and State University. it's one of the poorest counties in the US (failed railroad town). the county seat of Sparta used to be on our property - they moved it during the railroad boom. a large number of poorer families couldn't afford to move and a lot of the old home sites are still standing on our property. the old railroad tracks run directly through the northeast part of our property. there is an old access road that runs parallel to the tracks that has been over grown for a long time - there are parts you can drive a truck through, other parts you can hardly get a 4-wheeler through. but the last 100 yards or so still provide access. each end of this access road are blocked off (downed trees, giant no trespass signs, etc.)one day my dad, some hunting buddies and myself were removing railroad spikes during the offseason (back then they were $12 a pop). our property is remote - one way in, one way out. no running water or electricity. we took our 4 wheelers out to the tracks and midday we heard a car engine approaching. it scared some of the guys in our group because there is no way a car can get to where we were at. a couple of them ran to the access road (the tracks are in a valley). we heard some talking and all went to see what was going on. to my surprise - there sat a 1960s Plymouth (later found out it was a Plymouth Savoy, it was sharpe). there was a man driving, woman in the passenger seat and a small girl in the back. they were asking for directions to "the church". the closest church is 7ish miles away in the direction they apparently came. they all were dressed to a T in their Sunday best. but judging by their attire - it wasn't from the 90's. i asked my dad why they were dressed "funny". when the guy asked, i looked around at everyone from our party and all there was was blank faces, including my dad. literally no one answered. the woman pleaded that they were late for service and needed directions. it was a Tuesday mid-morning, i was out of school for spring break. finally, my dads youngest brother answered that we had no idea where the church was. they apologized for bothering us. before they drove off my dad spoke up and asked how they had gotten there because it was private property. and i'll never forget as long as i live - the man smiled the biggest smile and said "we came from just up the road" and looked back to what i had described earlier as what was left of "the road". my dads jaw dropped and it honestly scared me. never seen my dad what i identified as scared before. as they drove away, he said out the window towards us - "better get inside, rains on the way." there was not a single cloud in the sky, high 90s. i could tell everyone was really freaked out and went headed back to the 4 wheelers (left all the spikes we collected). my dad was dead silent the whole way back. i asked him repeatedly what happend. midway through the 20 minute ride back the bottom fell out and it rained the next couple of days - bad weather. there is no possible way that they could of conceivably gotten to where the were, period. the road has no access whatsoever. and of all things looking for a church that didn't exist for church service roughly 10:30 AM on a random Tuesday. i've been a believer ever since.

It is. It's crazy. She said she had full conversations with them & never had any reason to believe that they were not living & there in the flesh. She said her Great Grandma told her that her Great Grand father basically died of a broken heart because of what happened to Buster as the two were very close.

that was the thing. when he said they came from "just up the road" and pointed down what we commonly refer to as a walking path - that confirmed the whole thing to us.

  • I've seen one a couple of times.I was laughed at for a couple of years by some friends that thought I was crazy. Then over the next year or 2 8-10 other people come forward and had seen him in the same area.None of the first 8-10 recognized him or knew who it was but then a guy that lived nearby said he had seen him and knows who he was.He was buried in a old cemetery close to where we were all seeing him.He had worked with this guy years ago and had died from alcohol poisoning from drinking to much. Most of the people had seen him while they were driving by at night but I was locking a hunting club gate and he floated straight through me.What a weird feeling.Hope all of you get to experience that one night while you are alone. My brother was one of the ones that called me a liar for 2 years. Then he was coming out of the same gate after dark and the same thing happened to him.He tore the gate up with his truck getting out of there.
I've taken several people down there and even spent the night in the cemetery but never see him when you want to.
A few years back an old man had a crew putting up a fence at a house being built across the road and they were trying to finish it after dark in front of truck headlights when the ghost man come floating by them. This old man walked with a cane and had a bad limp. His 3 helpers jumped in the truck and didn't see the old man so they took off flying out of there and caught up with the old man a mile up the road. They said he looked like Carl Lewis running. These guys never went back to finish the fence.

If I were you.. I would seriously research for a car crash about those 3 people and see what happened. If you see their pictures in an old news article from a death while driving to church....talk about scary.

that happend in like 1995. a couple of years after that my dad had a buddy look up how many Plymouth Savoy's were registered in Georgia - there were like 5 and none of them were White like theirs. now that i have access to basically everything via the internet - i'll definitely be looking. haven't thought about it again really until now.

Have I got real events to share that are creepy ... I don't have the energy to tell it now. Lets just put it this way: I was a hospital chaplain for two years in a hospital over 100 years old. I did my clinical s there too while working on M.div at Beeson Divinity School at Samford. This was 4 Years earlier to Law School

  • Never believed until one night at work. I used to work overnight security for a boys juvenile facility. I was patrolling the campus and turned down a road between the cottages where the kids stayed. Going down the road I seen an old Indian woman carrying a green laundry basket going from one cottage to another. I get closer and poof she vanishes. Now I do believe, call me crazy I don't care.

  • downlowdawg that is a great story man. i will say i never believed in ghosts. i am a "show me or i won't believe it" person. i was on a conference call i want to say a little over 5 years ago with a jobsite up in north carolina that is an older house we have a big office in. it's a historical house i believe, but i had no idea about it's history. so i am on the phone with 2 field engineers and 2 site operators. we are scheduling some after hours server work and i am like okay we need to start at 7pm tonight. all 4 told me no they are not in their when it's dark. i laughed at them and said right "haunted".. they said yep. these field guys i work with work late often so i was a bit stunned they wouldn't in this house. so they continued to tell me stuff that happened up there. they saw a family i believe up there. they had things being thrown across the room. they literally had workers they hired run out of the building and wouldn't come back. they have the section of the house closed off because of the fear everyone has while working there. it's really amazing actually. so even though we didn't do any night work i still was a bit skeptical of ghosts.

a few years later a friend of mine and his wife moved into an older house with a lot of furniture that came with the house. it was a nice big old house. they had a lot of antique furniture. anyways his wife was really upset shortly after they moved into the house she said that was something wrong with a room upstairs. it was always cold and there was not an issue with the vents at all. i had come over to check out the house and brought a few friends and you could tell there was some tension between the two. so they started to tell us what was going on so we they showed us the room and we are in there and my friend is dismissing his wife saying there was nothing wrong with the room. in the middle of the argument we see the bed walk across the freaking room. WALK ACROSS THE FREAKING ROOM. we run the heck downstairs. i have never been that scared before. i have never seen something like that before in my life. my friend and his wife left the house tha night, had moves come in and get rid of the bed, the room's temperature went back to normal and they lived there for a few more years. i changed my view that night and have believed every since i saw that in person.

  • I live with my sister and gf. We're renting this house in a little neighborhood that was thrown up about 2 years ago. The first night after moving in, I'm sleeping and all of a sudden I hear something in the kitchen fall (my room is right next to it). I jumped up half asleep and loaded my gun, and crept in the kitchen and found the freezer door standing wide open with chicken thrown on the ground (the chicken was under a bunch of other meat). I just put it back in the freezer and ignored it for a while.

About two nights later I was home alone until about 10pm. We didn't have cable yet, so I was sitting in my chair in the living room and had my stereo plugged into the wall listening to music and unpacking some boxes. I see out of the corner of my eye, the cord to the stereo slowly just come out of the socket. I just finished that box and went to my room to watch a movie. All of a sudden I hear the loudest pounding running up and down the hallway upstairs. I texted my sister and friend if they were home, my sister said she had just pulled into the driveway. Freaked me the fugg out.

Next day I called my dad and said that something weird was going on in the house-- he just blew it off (basically calling me an idiot). Later that week, he came here to give us some more furniture. I'm taking a some stuff off the back of the truck while he takes stuff inside. He comes out (freaked out) asking if anybody else was here. There wasn't, but he said he heard something running up and down the stairs.

Next thing happened the next week. It was about 2am when I get a text from my sister saying somebody is outside her bedroom door. I once again load my gun and walk upstairs to her room. I open her door and she is squalling on her bed saying somebody was hitting the shit out of her door and she heard footsteps getting closer to her bed and when she turned to look, she didn't see anything but her curtains started to sway. I walked in and tried to calm her down, and she screamed "please whatever you are-- GO AWAY PLEASE". Ever since then nothing has happened
