downlowdawg that is a great story man. i will say i never believed in ghosts. i am a "show me or i won't believe it" person. i was on a conference call i want to say a little over 5 years ago with a jobsite up in north carolina that is an older house we have a big office in. it's a historical house i believe, but i had no idea about it's history. so i am on the phone with 2 field engineers and 2 site operators. we are scheduling some after hours server work and i am like okay we need to start at 7pm tonight. all 4 told me no they are not in their when it's dark. i laughed at them and said right "haunted".. they said yep. these field guys i work with work late often so i was a bit stunned they wouldn't in this house. so they continued to tell me stuff that happened up there. they saw a family i believe up there. they had things being thrown across the room. they literally had workers they hired run out of the building and wouldn't come back. they have the section of the house closed off because of the fear everyone has while working there. it's really amazing actually. so even though we didn't do any night work i still was a bit skeptical of ghosts.

a few years later a friend of mine and his wife moved into an older house with a lot of furniture that came with the house. it was a nice big old house. they had a lot of antique furniture. anyways his wife was really upset shortly after they moved into the house she said that was something wrong with a room upstairs. it was always cold and there was not an issue with the vents at all. i had come over to check out the house and brought a few friends and you could tell there was some tension between the two. so they started to tell us what was going on so we they showed us the room and we are in there and my friend is dismissing his wife saying there was nothing wrong with the room. in the middle of the argument we see the bed walk across the freaking room. WALK ACROSS THE FREAKING ROOM. we run the heck downstairs. i have never been that scared before. i have never seen something like that before in my life. my friend and his wife left the house tha night, had moves come in and get rid of the bed, the room's temperature went back to normal and they lived there for a few more years. i changed my view that night and have believed every since i saw that in person.

You're telling me THE BED moved itself across the room?! I've read a lot of ghost stories (I enjoy them and I do believe) but that one probably takes the cake.

I have two experiences that I'm not sure about. I was sleeping and woke up to an indian woman standing at the foot of my bed. I was scared shitless so I went right under the covers and when I dared to look back she wasn't there. I don't know if my mind was playing with me or not but it's something I'll never forget.

Another time I woke up to a black figure standing there and eventually it just kinda slowly walked out of the room. Again I don't know if my mind was messing with me because it seemed pretty damn real.

I live with my sister and gf. We're renting this house in a little neighborhood that was thrown up about 2 years ago. The first night after moving in, I'm sleeping and all of a sudden I hear something in the kitchen fall (my room is right next to it). I jumped up half asleep and loaded my gun, and crept in the kitchen and found the freezer door standing wide open with chicken thrown on the ground (the chicken was under a bunch of other meat). I just put it back in the freezer and ignored it for a while.

About two nights later I was home alone until about 10pm. We didn't have cable yet, so I was sitting in my chair in the living room and had my stereo plugged into the wall listening to music and unpacking some boxes. I see out of the corner of my eye, the cord to the stereo slowly just come out of the socket. I just finished that box and went to my room to watch a movie. All of a sudden I hear the loudest pounding running up and down the hallway upstairs. I texted my sister and friend if they were home, my sister said she had just pulled into the driveway. Freaked me the fugg out.

Next day I called my dad and said that something weird was going on in the house-- he just blew it off (basically calling me an idiot). Later that week, he came here to give us some more furniture. I'm taking a some stuff off the back of the truck while he takes stuff inside. He comes out (freaked out) asking if anybody else was here. There wasn't, but he said he heard something running up and down the stairs.

Next thing happened the next week. It was about 2am when I get a text from my sister saying somebody is outside her bedroom door. I once again load my gun and walk upstairs to her room. I open her door and she is squalling on her bed saying somebody was hitting the shit out of her door and she heard footsteps getting closer to her bed and when she turned to look, she didn't see anything but her curtains started to sway. I walked in and tried to calm her down, and she screamed "please whatever you are-- GO AWAY PLEASE". Ever since then nothing has happened

    This would scare me shitless

The black figure one might have been caused by sleep paralysis. It's a weird phenomena when you wake up but the mind continues to dream, creating hallucinations.

    Or you saw something paranormal.

Yes i am telling you that. I was scared (i can't finish that) when it happened. If I had not seen it with my own eyes i would have never believed it. Up until I saw that I didn't believe in ghosts at all or items being possessed. I would roll my eyes when i heard those stories, but no more. I truly believe in them now and I go out of my way to avoid any place where i might experience something like that again. I will never forget that and i still get chills when i think about it.

i wish i was lyinglol it'd make my walks out to the stand less stressful. there's a lot of bad history on the property - my theory is this has lots to do with it. it's only been in my family for about 30 years. prior to that - one lady owned it - prior to that shrug

I do to, but sometimes just thinking about it late at night the mind starts to wander. I would actually like to move to an even more remote area.

  • I've seen a few ghosts. I was lucky to be with friends who saw them also so I knew I wasn't going crazy.

I get sleep paralysis all the time. I don't have the hallucinations part, but I "wake up" often without being able to move. It freaked me out as a kid; now it's just really annoying.

My mother got a call from the hospital where my grandmother was staying at before she passed away about 6 months later saying that her mother wanted to talk to her. My mom said that was impossible because she was dead. She got 3 more calls saying the same thing over the next 6 months. She never took the call (wishes she had) but once is a fluke, but 4 times? ...

  • I am not sure if it was a ghost, or whatever it was... i don't particularly believe in ghosts per se, but i did have a very strange occurrence.

when I was 18, my little brother, who was 15, killed himself. Very long story short, i found him dead, after he had committed suicide with a shotgun.

I am not sure if the trauma of that was still looming, but the next summer, i was standing on a scaffold in a new neighborhood that was a couple of miles away from any other development. We were about 30' up. I saw what I swear was my little brother walking down the street. I really didn't know what to say, but i just watched him walking down the empty street. I was completely dumbfounded, and then he was gone. I lowered the pumpjack and got off, and never saw the person, or ghost, or anyone else on the street. This was in a new subdivision, and there were about 15 holes punched with forms, but only a few lots had any sort of wall work done. He had just vanished.

now, to this day, i can still see the exact way he used to walk, and even this thing he used to do with his hair when he was thinking. All of these things i saw when i saw whatever, or whoever it was. it was like a perfect carbon copy of him.

i have never seen anything else like that in my life, and still haven't, except that day.
