getting something out of an eye?
This morning I was using a pole saw and wasn't using any glass and sure enough one of the little wood chips went straight into my eye. I have tried to flush it out with eye solutions 4 different times to no avail. TIA

If you can't easily flush something out of your eye with water, you might need some outside help (like an urgent care/ER). Don't go to sleep with something in your eye.

Toilet paper, wet the tip. I've had a lot of things in my eyes from construction and catching seafood. It always worked. If you can get someone to do it for you

Dont wait too long because it can become infected and your eyes will get scratched to the point where you cant even sleep. My advice is to go to an urgent care and they put a dye in it that shows whatever is in your eye and thy will numb it and get it out. Other than that you may be able to go see your local eye doctor. The longer you wait, the bigger the chance of infection or even scratching the eye badly.

Can you see it in your eye? The eye will naturally try to force a foreign body out (toward the front of the eye, near the duct). If you can't see it, it's most likely not in there any more and you might be dealing with an abrasion.

Pull one eye lid over the other eye lid by pulling on the eye lashes. Then gently tap the eye lid until the object falls loose. My cousin told me about this a while back and it has worked every time for me. It's worth a try.

Yeah. I'd just go get it checked out. I work in a doctor's office, and for out patients and the pain of a corneal abrasion grows more and more the longer you ignore it (or think it'll get better). Are you sensitive to light at all?

The problem with this is that you risk scratching the eye if it is too deep. Ive tried it on sawdust and things like that and it came out, but last year I got a piece of steel in my eye and this didnt work so I went to an urgent care. They got it out but it was already infected, and it turned into pink eye. Then from rubbing the other eye I got the infection in both eyes and it lasted two weeks while on antibiotic eye drops. Finally when it was all said and done my eye was scratched up badly but could still be healed, but man during that healing process it was horrible. I couldn't even go outside because my eyes were so sensitive to the light. Even turning a light on in the house killed me. Like I said, I would go to a doctor as quick as you can because it will save you a lot of hardship.

Try sleeping on it tonight and see if it gets better because like "going buck" said it could just be the abrasion and the object is out. It will be better in the morning if it is out. If not go to the doc because it will mess you up. Its better to spend the co-pay than have to pry your eye apart every morning for two weeks.

try this. take your upper eyelid from , and rub it along your lower eyelid. I couldn't tell from your comments where exactly it was, but last time I had something in my eye I rub my two eyelids together and that got the particle out.

Are these the symptoms of an abrasion? When I move my head around and my eye goes with it, I can feel this one spot, and it is a VERY VERY mild discomfort(Not all that noticeable) So that makes me think it is in a central location and not something in there moving around. I can't feel it all too much when I blink. And I am not sensitive to light.
