I've stayed out west numerous times... but never with the intention of not coming back. I have a good buddy who swears he is staying "this time" but always end up back home. Think there is a difference in wanting to move out west during a good time in your life versus trying to move away from a bad one. Move for the right reasons & you'll definitely stay IMO.

I have two good friends (married) that have lived in Jackson Hole for many years....
He's a whitewater river guide in the summer & a snowmobile guide through yellowstone in the winter. She is a hiking guide through Grand Teton National forest in the summer & is a personal ski guide/teacher in the winter. Just living the dream... So jealous!

Yeah looking at it, they were moving out there with the intention of coming back. The alure of CO - nature and so forth is not my buddies' cup of tea. It's right up my alley. I've looked into jobs and so forth, really the only thing keeping me here in Atlanta. I read somewhere that something like 80% of people live within 50 miles of where they grew up.

He's been with the same company for like 8 years. Think he makes like $13.00/hr & gets an extra X-amount for overnight trips (like $100-150). Between the 2 of them they only make like $40,000/yr but it is plenty enough for them to live off of. PBR 30 packs are cheap.

Well good luck if you move out here. I moved here about a year ago and life is just more pleasant and stress free than Atlanta. It's amazing what the lack of traffic does to a psyche. Denver is a great place to live but do what one of my friends does in the winter works weekends and skis the weekdays.

Wife may get a job offer we can't pass up and I can work from anywhere. I have been out there a few times amd it seems great. I'm a Florida boy though so the cold kind of worries me. Either way we have to get out of Orlando. Can't take the millions of tourists anymore.
