Can you see it with out seeing all the LOTR? or will i be confused or does it have nothing to do with that trilogy? Trying to start getting into these kind of movies

Sometimes this board blows my mind. I was making a passing comment saying dont live in fear. I understand not feeling up for a movie right now. Then you have to try and attack me personally and then repost someone calling a poster retarded. Giving some people even a hair of benefit when doubted would make this board better.

Not wanting to see a movie because I just heard about 29 people being killed is not the same thing as living in fear. I am not avoiding the theater because I am worried about being shot. Of course as we learned earlier this year that is entirely possible.

Anyone watched it in 48 fps/3D? I heard varying reports.

I watched it last night. I was very entertained and enjoyed the movie. There are some marked differences between it and the LOTR trilogy. As some have noted, it is much lighter than LOTR. Many of the dwarves are used solely for comic relief and there are several eye rolling chuckles to be had. The scene with Gollum was great. My wife and I both enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next one. I did not think it was as good as LOTR, but the entire tone of the movie is different that LOTR. Even though the two are in the same universe, the movies are remarkably different. If you are a fan, it is a must see. I would recommend it to everyone though. Solid flick.
