Are straight people born straight?

  • Ok I'm a Christian and I don't need to hit ppl with a bible. Ppl will ask for your opinion or discuss the subject and give u a chance to share.

    Homosexuality is a sin and so is being a drunkard and the list goes on. What other ppl choose to do is on them but for me and my house we serve the LORD.God forgave me for all my sins . Sins can be committed knowingly or unknowingly . Some ppl choose to be gay and some were forced in a young age before they understood choices. But all this brain mess is absurd there is right and wrong and ignorance doesn't become a excuse at some point when u can make a choice it's just harder for ppl to change. Some ppl are born addicted to drugs because of their mother and once you reach an age of accountability you can't blame others.

    You want to be gay that's your choice but I teach my kids that it is wrong. Still treat others with respect no need to bash gay ppl just don't make them my best friends but I can speak to them and be cordial .

    Their kids will be exposed to significantly more LGBTQ things growing up than we were. Sure some people will lash out against it but most will just started seeing it as a fact of life in a free country.

    Edit: Misinterpreted what you were saying. However, in your response to what LAMP said, I think being gay is wrong, and I will teach my children that if I have any.

    But how do you get a child to understand that what someone does (in your opinion) is wrong, but as a whole they are OK people? How does a child compute that?

    Does that mean that even though terrorists do bad things, they're OK people? How about murderers and rapists?

    I tell them you don't hate those people, but in NO WAY to you approve of that lifestyle and need to be outspoken against it, peacefully.

    Just because Uncle Buck smokes cigarettes doesn't mean he is a bad person, just means he needs to quit because smoking is bad.... If he's not careful, it can be the death of him.

    Smoking cigarettes (a bad habit) is not akin to a way of life. Is being gay a bad habit?

    It just seems like you always have a personal beef with what I say. You always say condescending sh!t like while I dunno what they say in Canada or crap like that. It's getting old man.

    Gay isn't a "lifestyle" it's a sexual orientation or "preference". There isn't a certain way gay people live, gay people have different lifestyles. In case you didn't realize.

    I'm saying it's alright to try and lead your kid to a straight orientation (it's impossible IMO they are what they are) but teaching them that being gay is wrong is just teaching intolerance.

    Hate the sin, love the person.

    Little story as an example, when my now 14 year old daughter was young, 4-5, when we prayed she always piped up, "and don't forget the bad people like robbers."

    We don't preach hate to our children.
