Absolutely exaggerated.
I also call BS on the part of the article that says Shark's Fin Soup is a delicacy on par with caviar or truffles. I was in China and Cambodia at various points in the mid-late 90s, and I had Shark's Fin Soup and it was far from a delicacy - it was commonly available for low prices.

I have been a National Geographic subscriber for years. But they are really starting to make a habit out of this kind of thing. Conservation has always been apart of their mission but increasingly it's becoming the main focus. I am not going to keep paying if we are turning all Greenpeace here. lol.

Maybe its true, there could be an epic number of sharks in the sea considering all species... but again, 100 million does sound like a crazy number
But if there is that many swimming around, it wouldn't shock me at all to know humans kill the shit out of them in record numbers on a daily basis... its what humans do, we kill shit all the time.... every second of every day probably
