Arkansas Fans ... Bielema Cutting Commits ??

  • What do you fans think of your new coach cutting kids that have been loyally committed to ARK before he has even named the coach? Seems odd that a new coach in a new conference would take this approach to start his career at an SEC school. Do yall have some serious replacements for them?

    First QB Tyler Cogswell and now RB Kaleb Blanchard. Not sure hes gaining any fans in Florida or Louisiana with these moves ....

  • Bielema spoke out very negatively about Urban Meyer when he got to OSU about him not honoring past commitments from kids and then trying to steal recruits from him.

    Really shocking that this guy now thinks it ok to do so after all the bad mouthing. I just started the thread because the kid from Louisiana's coach is really upset about the situation and is well respected in LHSAA. Hes most likely going to tell coaches about his conversation with Bielema over this situation and it wont be very positive for him.

  • 2-Beez is as big of a douche as they come. That being said, his main strength was running a good program and recruiting. He might be going downhill for that second category, shooting yourself in the foot is nowhere to go. Won't be recruiting Ohio like be once was.

    If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting

  • Well.. He can absolutely FORGET ever recruiting that area of Louisiana while he's at Arky. Blanchard plays for a very well respected high school coach and everyone that's friends of that coach or around the area where Blanchard played, so Bret might as well forget even trying to recruit that part of Louisiana.

If he tells those kids that they don't fit into what system that he's going to run and that they should explore their options, then I think that is a classy move personally. He should honor the scholarship if they decide that they want to stay though.The problem I have is when a coach leaves a program and people say "you commit to a university and not a coach", but then a situation like this comes up. The kid committed to the university and now the new coach is saying they don't want him. So which is it?

    Well the kid's High School Head Coach is VERY upset about this. Obviously BB did it the wrong way and he pissed off the wrong HS coach. Absolutely no way he will be able to land a recruit near Denham Springs.. Which is a recruiting hotbed.

  • Ridiculous if you ask me. He's willing to keep the top recruits, but not the marginal ones. The QB is probably screwed too, qb slots are filled everywere.
