Not quite. Armond to stay at SC this Spring and transfer for the Fall and Arik to make his decision on signing day.

Correct. Misread the tweet. Think SC is back in it?

I doubt it. I don't think SC will ever clear Armond.

No chance SC is in it IMO. Seems like there is some bad blood there. Washington could make a late push for Arik though. If the SEC doesn't allow Armond to come to Auburn I would say Auburn is out of the running though.

Nobody really is for sure but the story I've heard is that he is on a blood thinner and that is a bit of a problem.

That's the million dollar question that only SC's physicians/administration knows. Jarvis Jones part two, where every other reputable university medical staff will clear him, but SC.

It just depends how much the Armstead brothers want to play together. Armond can't go to UW. That leaves ND/Auburn. The latest news indicates that Armond is waiting on SEC to accept transfer or for ND to clear him medically. From what I've heard Armond hasn't even filed the paperwork needed to petition the SEC for clearance. I could see UW making a major play on Arik. If he were deciding today I would have bet Auburn. Has Auburn used it in home visit with Arik or Armond?

The only bad blood is between Gus Armstead and SC's administration. He and the SC coaches are still very cool. He and Ed O were just at the Army game choppin it up.

Sounds like it is a 50/50 shot. The thinking though is that he can't play at USC because of an USC injury rule. He isn't doing what Masoli did and just want to transfer because of getting kicked out (basically).

BTW Our writer is saying that there has been no decision yet and that it would be another day or two before we know if they are going to wait or announce according to Mr. Armstead.

They seem hell-bent on playing together.

Right. I didn't mean he had a bad relationship with USC's coaching staff.

  • Just curious but did the SEC just enact a rule that graduated players with one year of eligibility left cannot transfer into the SEC. How can you possibly get around that.

  • I'm guessing here, but maybe the SEC would grant him a medical waiver transfer, if Auburn's medical staff clears him of course.

The broad reporter with Scout is saying Arik will end up at Oregon and Armond at Wisconsin if they can't play together at Auburn or Notre Dame. I don't even know what to say to that.
