SAN ANTONIO, Texas- It was an exciting U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday and there's a lot to talk about.

  • Wow, not a single word about Jonathan McCrary's work today.

Watch Swoopes get a bump up in his rating from multiple services after another horrid performance today.

  • Tre'Davious White had a really good game.

Did you read the part about Swoopes being ranked too high? McCrary was the worst QB on either team all week. That doesn't mean he won't be a good player in college, but this wasn't really his week at all.

Both played and were good. This wasn't really a mention the top guys piece. I took a little different approach to this one. It gets boring reading the same old thing.

I have to get back to Nashville and meet with Gerry Hamilton and the rest about our final rankings, but I can't imagine a scenario where both Herron and White move up.

  • If there is a concern, it’s that Browne simply isn’t a very good athlete and while he’s an elite, quick decision maker even as a high school player, I question how any signal caller with his athleticism is going to be able to hold up against a pass rush.

I also question how Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, Drew Brees all hold up against the pass rush. Some how some of the best QBs of all time have similar levels of athleticism.

From watching Browne, I think has superior feet than Barkley.

  • Thanks for the great coverage JC.

What are your feelings on John Montelus who is another ND OL I have questioned his low ranking for a while now. I was expecting him to maybe fit that mold of Khahiel Rodgers who on Rivals are battling it out for the #1 OG in the country ranking which Montelus is currently ranked at.

Any idea when these final rankings will be released? Also would you list your top 10 performers from all the AS games you've seen this weekend?

He's an inferior athlete to most of those guys when they were coming out of high school. They are also the exception, not the rule.

Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely high on Max Browne, I just think it's a concern. There are very few flawless prospects.

Is this a practice thread or a bowl thread?

And he was far from the worst quarterback on that field today.

  • Tre'Davious White, Eddie Vanderdoes, Jaylon Smith, Steven Mitchell, Derrick Henry, Jeremy Johnson, James Quick, Frank Herron, K Rodgers and Evan Lisle from today.

I have to think on the others as they were on TV.

  • I thought the East's oline did a good job blocking for Green and Henry. Lisle and Rodgers stood out to me. If you watch Henry's touchdown they pushed their guys all the way into the end zone. I noticed the run game was particularly effective when they pulled Lisle and ran behind him.

I'll take your word for it, but I find it hard to believe he is an inferior athlete to either of the Mannings or Brady.

My top 10 in no order VH3, RNK, Matthew Thomas, Pogi, Bivin, White, K. Rodgers, J. Smith, EV, and Brice Ramsey. Ramsey didn't put up the numbers but was very impressed with his quick release and overall game something I wasn't expecting.

  • Any idea why Zeke Elliott was limited? The one time they got him the ball he took it about 19 yards on a third and long. Would've liked to have seen him get the ball a few more times in space he just looks explosive. When he was in he was more of a blocker which surprised me because I don't see him as being a great blocking back.

That is your opinion Star but others disagree. Hell ESPN has both Montelus and Rodgers ranked ridiculously low.

Here they have Rodgers ranked as the #12 OG(for now obviously) and Montelus is ranked as an OT but he's really an OG or potentially ND's future C

Brice Ramsey will be good one day. But he needs to sit and learn for awhile. He threw 3 bad INTs and his feet was erratic.
