Artie Burns is playing games big time now

  • He's moved UM up to No. 2 on his list of favorites.

"Miami is still in the picture," Burns said. "I'll be attending one of their scrimmages and I've been to Miami a couple of times.

"Miami's been recruiting me hard. I've talked to all the coaches. They tell me they really want me down here. I'm high on their board - they say they want me to come to the University of Miami."

The bad news for the Canes: Burns says he plans to decommit from Alabama to Florida State.

"Right now it's Florida State No. 1, then Miami," Burns said. "I'm still committed to Alabama, but I'm going to decommit from Alabama and go to Florida State - it probably will be during the spring that I do that. I'm going to sit down and talk to my head coach - he wants to talk to me to see if I really, really want to go there."

Regardless, Burns says UM has jumped ahead of the Crimson Tide.

Asked what UM can do to try and pull even with the Seminoles, Burns said, "There's nothing they can really do. It'll just be what I want to do."

Burns says what's drawing him to FSU is "Growing up I just always had a dream of playing for FSU. That gave them an extra boost. My family was UM fans, but I always liked the FSU players, the colors and the chant."

There's local pressure for him to stay close to home, of course.

"People are saying stay closer to home, you don't have to go away, you have family right here, local support and everything is basically here," Burns said.

Of how he views his recruitment so far, Burns said, "It may seem like it's gone crazy, but I'm handling it well."

  • What so he's committed to Bama but his number 1 is FSU and his number 2 Miami over Bama but he's gonna decommit and go to FSU but still consider Miami okay cool that makes perfect sense.

  • [fistpump] just glad it ain't McMillian. Luke gave Noles247 a scoop on FSU flipping a commit last night but nobody would say who.

  • I wish they just wouldn't commit to a school until they absolutely know or are almost positive they are going there.

  • His handlers are going to be a problem and a pain in the as*. We are about to GTFO and let everyone else deal with them. It's just not worth it.

Wtf. Is this for real? Did he really say that? I'm speechless

There is a article on our site which I am sure has made its way to BOL by now that says the exact same things as the article I am assuming is from Warchant.

  • As a player, I want the kid; he seems really talented. As a recruit, most guys like this tend to fizzle out and transfer, even if we did sign him. So Noles, enjoy.

    JMRB

  • I want this kid, but is it worth it getting his commitment now if he is subject to flip and flip and flip some more

Not really, I mean, we are still on probation and I would rather not be around a kid who uses his "uncle". No thanks, he is not worth it.

The guy on our site called it a month ago. It's nothing new. Strange that the FSU guys here are happy about this and the FSU guys on TOS are talking about his handler and how this kid is trouble. Hmmmm
