We recruited Bryant as a DB...Tenpenny will have time to develop in our program, and has all the tools to do that. I think Tyren Jones is the only one that should be ranked above all of these. Tyren is a Top20 player and the best pure RB in this class.

The guys you mentioned are at the forefront of the "overrated" list for me for different reasons along with a couple others.

Kelvin Taylor- Was initially on my overrated listed. Although I still don't think he's the #1 RB in the nation, I have been impressed with what I've seen of him this season. He has good power in the hole and shiftiness. I'm still concerned about his top-end speed but I think he'll be a good SEC RB. Kinda reminds me of Mike Gillislee, current UF RB. One thing that does concern me just a bit is the level of competition he played in HS as well as the fact that he turned 19 years old in September. Kelvin Taylor is older than Todd Gurley, TJ Yeldon, and Keith Marshall. In fact he's almost a full 1 year older than Gurley.

Greg Byrant- Seemed to be a little stiff with a short stride (tight hip flexors) but he grew on me this year as he seems to have improved his agility, runs physical, and is better than I initially thought at catching the ball out of the backfield.

Ty Isaac- Honestly, I think his best position in college may be H-Back/TE. He dominated against lesser competition and doesn't exhibit great shiftiness, agility or power....at least not at the level I think translates to an elite college RB. Who in the NFL at RB does he remind you of in terms of skillset? Exactly.

Thomas Tyner- More concerned about his level of competition and toughness/injury issues. Has the best "pure measureables" in the 2013 class in terms of size & speed ratio.......but then again, neither of the top 3 NFL rushers of all-time had elite measureables....meaning there are a lot more impact aspects to being a good RB than size and 40 time.

Altee Tenpenny- Good timed athlete but does not look as explosive on film nor like the #2 RB in the nation based on his 2012 film. In fact, his 2 back-ups averaged more yards per carry this year than he did. Concern about his level of competition as well. Seriously don't think he'd be listed as a top 15 RB were in not for the SPARQ Combine. I could be wrong as he has good size, and speed and decent power but he didn't dominate against less than good competition and the state of Arkansas' highest rated defensive player for the 2013 class is a 3 star. In fact the state only has 10 players in the 2013 class that are ranked 3 star or higher. Need to put up Thomas Tyner or Derrick Henry type stats against this competition.

Inexact science though and RB ratings seem to be the most inaccurate position when you look at the best NFL RBs and what they were rated in high school....with the biggest current exceptions being Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch who were both highly rated. Yet guys like Chris Johnson, Arian Foster, Ray Rice and Doug Martin were 2 or 3 star RB prospects out of high school.

There are more than a few guys further down the board I'd rather have than the 5 star guys. I don't see it at all on Bryant. We anted him as a CB.

i dont know about overrated per se, just not any that i would include as a 5star. i dont get kelvin taylor being ranked as a 5. he just doesnt have elite speed. ryan green, granted hes a 4 star, has great speed and hands but doesnt run through tackles that great. if you combined these two youd get a true 5 star. to me a 5 star back is yeldon, great toughness and strength, speed, hands, vision etc

i only see a bunch of 4 stars and no 5s. a 5 star back in my book is the complete package with zero holes in his game and i just dont see one this year. a lot of good backs but no great ones

Imagine the sheer possibility of Hill/Yeldon as juniors & Fournette/Scarborough as freshman when Bama/LSU '14 rolls around. Jesus H. Christ.

it would help if your OL was somewhat better at run blocking.

On paper as 18-19 year olds, not a special RB year/class IMO, but solid with some good depth.

Collins has all the physical gifts plus body type/size combo IMO.

There are some senior risers I really like too...

Here is one, a kid from north of Dallas (Little Elm), Ke'aun Kinner (5-9, 182) that put up 2,692 yards in 10 games in a quality 4A district.

Not a 40 fast kid, but he has every RB instinct one could want. Breaks A LOT of tackles for 180. Just terrific vision and run maximizing ability.

May have to go the JUCO route - will be close.

RB Leonard Fournette in 2014 and RB Nicholas Brossette in 2015....LSU has a chance to have one hell of a future duo. Do. not. want. to. deal. with.

Ty Isaac looks like a poor man's Jalen Hurd.

He has very good hands/ball skills, or in the limited I have seen.
