Auburn Fans Lets Just Get An Honest Answer From Yall ...

  • Are yall embarrassed? I know as a fan you have to try and save face knowing Malzahns is going to be your coach no matter how much you gripe but do you feel as though your school has let you down as a fan?

It just seems to me Jay Jacobs and the administration just took a guy they were familiar with and did not do your school justice in finding a proven winner/leader. Malzahn feels to me like the administration was backed into a corner and just took someone to safe face with some fans who will think its going to be "Cam Like" years under Malzahn all over again.

  • Keeping Jim Chizik or hiring Gus, makes an Alabama fan happy. Keep it up Pat, you are doing one heck of a job running that program.

I'm not embarrassed. I'm happy. Excited. Shaking TBH. I'm a Bama fan though.

Shaking as in, mad, like Texas A&M shaking? Or just overjoyed, shaking?

I can almost gaurantee you, no "barner" , thinks Gus is 'tops' , whatever that means.. I mean, as fans, what can we really do about it? Support our school and hope for the best, bruh.

It must suck having to grasp for any loss/bad thing to make fun of when it comes to Bama these days. Gotta be tough when we've lost fewer games the past 5 seasons than AU did this year.

I mean...the A&M loss meant essentially nothing. Didn't keep us from ATL or Miami. Pickin's are slim these days...

    Btw, hahaha Gus Malzahn hahaha.

I think he means more like shaking from kinda like when you win the SEC and are playing in the national championship game again and your little brother silly rival just hired their version of Mike Shula while Bama is on top of the world type shaking...

    Did that clear it up?

BTW, what's going on in this post? Are you trying to make fun of us by pointing out the game we lost en route to our second consecutive championship game or something?

I've already seen some responses....." Gus' offenses are exactly the type of offenses that give Saban problems. Saban was probably shaking with fear when he heard that announcement". That was an actual post on the Bodda. The majority actually believe this stuff.

  • Honestly, I got the email from AUC while I was sitting in court waiting to represent a client, so couldn't really make any outward expressions one way or another. Once I got out of there, my honest reaction was "meh." Not overjoyed, not descending into sorrow. I believe AU could have and should have done better, then I remembered guys like Jay Jacobs and Pat Dye were part of the process and everything of course shifted into focus perfectly.

I have always believed that until Jay Jacobs, Pat Dye, Tim Jackson, Dr. Gogue, and the rest of their merry bunch are expunged from AU and replaced with actual professional administrators whose focus is not political but rather economic, AU will continue to make these types of hiring decisions. The problem, in short, is systemic. Much like Washington DC, where administrations, senators, representatives, and others come and go with elections, but the Beltway Bureaucracy literally never changes. Until AU's administrative problems are dealt with at the root, shaky and outright bad hiring decisions will continue to be made because the one's making the decisions are doing so in a way that protects themselves, not in a way that makes the university better.

We will see how it goes. Malzahn's offense can succeed in the SEC. Will it ever be like when Cam was there? Probably only if another Cam-type player emerges. The only hope we have to hold onto is that Malzahn took a noodle-arm retard (Chris Todd) and set records with a mediocre team back in 2009. Indeed, Malzahn can succeed against LSU, Bama, UGA, etc., with the right personnel in place. Will he amass it, who knows. But I assume at this point that until the aforementioned people are banished from their positions, history will repeat itself over and over again.

Yes I did ... Im not sure how our fanbase could be embarrassed with an 85-20 record

Im asking yall if your embarrassed that your administration could only end up hiring Gus Malzahn when the fanbase was expecting so much more. The lack of effort your AD put into this hire is alarming if Im a donor or fan of the program.

  • In 2009 Auburns offense, including Chris Todd was atrocious In SEC play. Auburn ranked 9th in passing offense in 2009 against SEC opponents. This water Into wine story about Chris Todd is a big OL fat myth and any good stats he had came against terrible competition. I think Auburn was 5th in scoring offense as well.
