Go figure, West coast bias by outlets like ESPN. I am shocked shocked I tell you. What a joke! Do you know that ESPN has the best player in LA by far this year not even ranked in their top 150. A guy who is a 5 star on the other three servies is not in their top 150. Screw their bias to the big markets.

Shurburtt said earlier that if a QB like Jeremy Johnson were committed to Alabama he would be ranked lower due to the system, so tell me if bama has great coaches and they do, how does this fit your logic?

  • Lol, you are too easy joker.

You guys are ALWAYS whining about where your recruits are rated but your record is full of 7 and 5 seasons and most recently 3-9 so it seems they have been overrated not underrated. I know you want to feel good about something but all of you guys (aub fans) sound like a bunch of wusses on here whining everyday about where a recruit is ranked, or if he fell or whatever. Does it really matter or is your recruiting class ranking the only hopeful thing you have?

  • Like Alonzo mentioned, USC's recruit rankings PLUMMETED, despite good performances at camps and in all-star games.

NcaaAssassinG13 posted this on the USC site today, which details how far down the rankings USC players fell:

    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Credit to NcaaAssassinG13///////////////////////////

Here are the USC Commits that are ranked in their top 247.
The 1st number is their 24/7 ranking.
The number after their name is their composite rank (avg from other sites)
    ==============
    #13 Bigelow #10
    #16 Cravens #5
    #30 Browne #11
    #39 Ramsey #16
    #42 McQuay #29
    #69 Mitchell #64
    #74 Hawkins #66
    #85 Issac #49
    #83 Rodgers #140*****
    #200 Davis #113
    #207 Prevot #180
    #217 Hutchings #99
    =================
(Only Rodgers-1 Trojan out of 12 are ranked better than their composite rank)
Plus 2 recent Trojan de-commits are also ranked lower than composite rank.
    #41 Redfield #27
    #102 Fitts #89

Now look at all the other players from the west (who are not going to SC -or at least not yet)
that were ranked in 24/7's top 247.

(Primarily California kids, but some Arizona, Oregon, Idaho, Wash)
1st number is 24/7 rank, number after their name is composite rank.
    =================
    #46 Goodman #50
    #77 Luke #139
    #82 Baugh #88
    #90 Byrd #159
    #96 Qualls #117
    #123 Daniels #126
    #126 LaRue #154
    #130 Carrington #201
    #134 Ty.Robinson #136
    #201 J.Kelly #236
    #211 Seisay #429
    #218 Foreman #251
    #219 Redmond #282
    #222 Koehler #337
    #224 Quessenberry #373
    #226 DJ Martin #388
    #235 Palma #316
    #237 Cotton #1033
    #238 Cormier #254
    #239 D.Allen #261
    #240 LJ Moore #250

All 21 players in the 24/7's Top 247 (who are not going to USC)
are ranked better than their composite ranking.
    Plus...
    #22 Tyner #20
    #47 Willis #45
    #124 TWilliams #110
    #138 Newby #128
    #152 Robinson #148
    #168 Rettig #157
6 western players (also not going to SC) that are ranked lower than their composite
but by less than 15 ranking spots.

Here's the 1 western recruit out of the 28 from the West (that is not going to USC as far as we know,
that is more than 15 ranking spots lower than their composite rank.

I applaud 247 for including the composite rankings - that's a nice feature to help minimize the impact of skewed statistics and bias.

Your stance that the websites inflate the recruiting rankings of Alabama commitments while downgrading the rankings of Auburn commitments makes perfect sense when you look at trivial outcome data such as wins/losses, college awards, college production, and NFL draft status.

It's obvious after seeing these inflated Bama classes of Nick Saban matriculate that they were overrated. It's obvious after seeing these downgraded Auburn classes matriculate that they were underrated.

TJ Yeldon didn't deserve a 5th star. It was because he committed to Alabama. You'll see, he's really not THAT good.

  • Damn bama conspiracy. We make services give bama recruits higher rankings. We make other teams lose to us. We make nfl teams draft our players in the first round. This needs to stop!!
These services have given bama the best recruiting rankings over the last 5 years.
Other teams have given bama (games fixed by rec) 61 wins in 5 years.
And great coaches ( Mac ,les, and Brian) have thrown bcs title games by an average of 22ppg.
It's so obvious. Damn bama bias.

Seems like you, as is auburn, are getting penalized for your embarrassment of a season. Coaching staffs are now included in evals and yours sucks balls

That's a dumber argument than the one about there being a bama bias. Soo, they are evaluating our recruits based on a staff that hasn't coached a lick of football at AU before? Right. Either you're trolling hard or you're a brain donor. I'm hoping its the first...

Services take into account who has offered a kid. Perhaps the other services weigh a SoCal offer more than evaluating the player like 247 does. The player is the same no matter what the service says, the only question is which site is best at evaluating players. Outside of Chad Simmons in the SE for Scout, I don't really care what anyone on other sites say. This one is the best
