I've got to nominate....
Robert Plant. srs. Dude was a great singer, but he got waaaaaaaay to much credit for Zeppelin. Jimmy Page is top 2 guitarist of all time, JPJ plays bass, organ, fiddle, and every other instrument, and Bonzo was a great drummer. Its not that Plant is a bad singer, he's not, but he gets way too much credit for LZ. And honestly, some of his vocals can get annoying.
disclaimer: my favorite band of all time
agree on Axl. Slash made GnR (can you tell I am biased to guitarists yet?)
Cobain wrote most of the Nirvana songs, so I don't put him up there, Nirvana was all Cobain...even though he's not a great singer or guitar player.
Worst frontman of all time....is a frontwoman. Wilson lady in Heart. her voice is like nails on chalkboard, music was fine.

Izzy created most of the ideas, but then you have to look at the rhythm section. Duff and Steven Addler...those two were an incredible rhythm section. Duff has a truly unique bass sound and Addler was super tight at creating the back beat. You replace anyone of those guys and it doesn't work. It was a gestalt, the sum of all the parts made appetite such a great album.

True, and all those songs came from living hand to mouth, and in the ghetto in Hollywood. Once they got rich, stuff changed. I thought it was interesting that "You Could Be Mine", and "November Rain", didn't make the cut to be on Appetite. I always thought they wrote those songs after Appetite.

sucks, as does their drummer

Axl Rose is the most overrated front man ever.
