BCS Bowl?

  • So if Kent State wins tonight and finishes over 16 they get in a BCS Bowl correct? In doing this they dont take away a spot from a Conference Champion? Its just a shame we could see 3 terrible teams like FSU/GT,UL, and Kent ST make the BCS and leave out Bama/UGA loser. FWIW I think FSU loses to GT this weekend. We suck and too many distractions going on up there now.

  • Georgia Tech is horrible. I'd bet everything I had that FSU wins and I'd give whatever the Vegas spread is. Georgia Tech can't beat anyone what has athletic talent on defense.

  • These automatic tie in BCS bowl births have ruined the big bowls. I look forward to the Outback, Chick-Fil-A, and Capital One Bowl MUCH more than than the others outside of the Sugar. There are 2 or 3 conferences that have no business having a BCS team. Sad

    Fiesta- Florida vs Oregon

    Orange- UGA vs Kansas State

    Rose- LSU vs Stanford

    Sugar- Texas A&M vs Oklahoma

    Cotton- South Carolina vs Nebraska

    Those matchups would be amazing

    the answer is NO, Kent State will not be in a BCS Bowl reguardless of their final ranking.

    the BCS invites 1 team (if ranked 16 or higher) from the "slub" conferences & L'Ville will be higher than Kent St.

    the loser of the SECCG "is out" of the BCS Bowl picture.
    the winner goes to the NCG & Florida will go the Sugar as the SEC's 2nd highest ranked team.
    unless by some chance Bama falls to Georgia and yet finishes ahead of Fla in the final poll, which isnt likely.

    per BCS guidelines only 2 teams per conference are allowed.shrug

    as per the OP... the loser of the SECCG woulnt be "a Champion".

    nevertheless Kent State will not get a BCS berth (and arent deserving of one either).

    That's because you are a tool. These teams know the stakes going into the season win your conference or get left out of the BCS. Nothing about this is unfair, and the fact you are not a fan of any of those teams and whining about it is embarrassing. If you want to complain about the entire bowl system you might have something because it is a joke and doesn't do anything to put the best matchups together.

    10x the intrigue & a winner on the field.
    and for fun ... #9 vs #10 in Hawaii Bowl (the we're bitching because we didnt play our way in bowl)

    as for the intrigue this season w/ a true 8 team playoff ?
    -SECCG winner secure's a spot
    -SECCG loser ? must wait for the final poll (where would they fall ?)
    -#6 Kansas State would be in a must win / bubble buster vs Texas (ironically A&M (at #9) fans would be forced to cheer the Horns or would they ?).
    -#8 Stanford also in must win mode vs rematch w/ UCLA

    - if all the final weeks Fav's win ? KSU to #5,Georgia falls to #6, Stanford's "extra win" moves them to #7, LSU in at #8.
    and A&M plays South Carolina in Hawaii
