BCS Bowl?

  • an 8 team (top 8 reguardless of conf. affiliation) playoff is the answer.

10x the intrigue & a winner on the field. plus for fun ... #9 vs #10 in Hawaii Bowl (the we're bitching because we didnt play our way in bowl)

    - if all the final weeks Fav's win ? KSU to #5,Georgia falls to #6, Stanford's "extra win" moves them to #7, LSU in at #8. and A&M plays South Carolina in Hawaii

8 team playoff scenario for 2012 (in all final weeks FAV's win)

    1-ND vs 8-LSU
    4-Oregon vs 5-Kansas St
    ----------------------------------
    2-Bama vs 7- Stanford
    3-Florida vs 6-Georgia

if K-State fell to Texas adding A&M to the frey could the CF world live with "the SEC Open" ?coffee

the answer is NO, Kent State will not be in a BCS Bowl reguardless of their final ranking.

the BCS invites 1 team (if ranked 16 or higher) from the "slub" conferences & L'Ville will be higher than Kent St. --the end--

You seem confident. L'Ville is not currently ranked in the BCS top 25...at all!! I would find it rather surprising they would jump from outside the top 25 to inside the top 15 after beating an unranked Rutgers team. That would be unprecedented.

Fact is, Kent St. wins and UCLA loses and we very likely have a UF/Kent St. Sugar Bowl.

So if Kent State wins tonight and finishes over 16 they get in a BCS Bowl correct? In doing this they dont take away a spot from a Conference Champion? Its just a shame we could see 3 terrible teams like FSU/GT,UL, and Kent ST make the BCS and leave out Bama/UGA loser. FWIW I think FSU loses to GT this weekend. We suck and too many distractions going on up there now.

They would take a spot away from an at-large team...not a conference champion. They would take Oklahoma's spot. The loser of the SECCG is out because only 2 teams from a conference can go and UF is likely the 2nd SEC team.

  • Kent State can knock Oklahoma from Orange Bowl

Generally, its the WAC that crashes the party, but this year has been kind to the Mid-American Conference. Now, due to a quirky season, a w

i forgot L'Ville lost a pair in the previous two weeks (shows how much attention i pay them)
one other scenario that could squash Kent State's hopes is Texas winning and jumping them in the poll.

one thing is certain, Kentucky (0-8 SEC,2-10 overall) will be able to make "we thumped a BCS Bowl team" t-shirts if Kent gets in. lol
not to mention the azz whipping at the hands of Florida's reserves that Kent will take.

So if Kent State goes to a BCS Bowl game ....

it will be just one more Bowl with pathetic TV ratings. blackeye

These would be my picks, tie ins be damned:

    NC- ND vs Bama

    Fiesta- Florida vs Oregon

    Orange- UGA vs Kansas State

    Rose- LSU vs Stanford

    Sugar- Texas A&M vs Oklahoma

    Cotton- South Carolina vs Nebraska

    Those matchups would be amazing

Ok first throw out LSU in favor of Oregon. NOw way a 2 loss LSU is in before a 1 loss Oregon. And if FSU wins this weekend then they get the nod over South Carolina, sans Lattimore. Me thinks you overvalue the sec a bit. Best conference, yes. But belonging in every BCS game you make me laugh.

  • Let's remember that a 6 loss Georgia Tech and 5 loss Wisconsin may both play in a BCS bowl game this year.

He's got Florida vs Oregon in the Fiesta. I like Weed's picks, but I'd throw out Nebraska and put Florida State in there. I could see keeping Nebraska and leaving S. Carolina out in favor of Florida State. Either way, FSU has got to be in there.

What? You don't see his UF vs Oregon matchup or something.
