BEST campus you've ever seen...

  • Miami is a gorgeous campus. Just doesn't have the gameday, but everything else is top notch.

    Northwestern is the same way.

I've seen a lot of them, but not all obviously. My favorite I think is University of Washington. It's sick. The scenery is stupifying and they call it stern gating and not tailgaiting as they all dock boats on the lake next to the stadium. It's BEYOND beautiful and they HANDS DOWN have the best beer bars of any campus I've been to.

Big bonus, loudest stadium I've ever heard and I've been to Blacksburg for a night game and that's saying something. Haven't been to any SEC games except Florida. Yeah, the swamp was loud, but NOT EVEN CLOSE to UW.

Dying to go to an Iron Bowl, Mich/OSU and LSU night game. Also gotta see the sway in Aggie land. Been to UT and fans there to me are like Yankee fans, they expect success and not really into anything short of perfection. Their high school games are better....

Best campus??? Scenery, game day, crowd, campus... whatcha got?

The next couple years will probably be some pretty epic battles in the Michigan/osu series.

  • I've only set foot on a few campuses (Iowa, ISU, UNI, and George Washington). I like GW but it wasn't exactly my thing. I'd have to go with the campus I live at since I haven't been to many schools. I look to make it out more once I graduate.

Miami U grad here, it is super nice. True college town.

Totally agree about Miami U. Went on a campus visit and if I hadn't gotten into UW-Madison I would have gone to Miami. Absolutely gorgeous campus.

  • I didn't think UCLA was all that great. Love SoCal, but the campus was a little sterile, IMO.

ND is worth a game day visit. The Golden Dome and the Library are iconic buildings,
The grotto, Diag and march from the church to the stadium is a nice traditions. The stadium sucks ass though lol (j/k).

Pepperdine is ridiculous, overlooking the Pacific.

    Duke is beautiful.

Of course, Saturday in Ann Arbor is the gold standard for which every school in the nation strives to imitate. No bias. None whatsoever.

  • As far as Wisconsin goes, I'm obviously going to be a bit biased. Nothing like the view from the Memorial Union Terrace in late April / early May with a pitcher of New Glarus beer. Tough choice between that and going to class or studying. I am not a man of great will power so you can guess where I usually was.

As far as other campuses / college towns go, I really like Michigan. Ann Arbor, like Madison, is about as good a college town there is. Also recently spent some time at UCLA and I liked the look of the campus. I've heard awesome things about UNC and Washington, but haven't gotten a chance to go and from the pictures I've seen Stanford looks awesome. I will say I think Michigan State is under rated. From what I could tell from my time there it could use a better bar scene, but if were just talking about the physical beauty of the campus MSU would be right up there.

Yup, but it isn't a big time football school so you can't expect it to have a big football atmosphere. (If you are referring to Miami of Ohio.)

Not even close to any other campus. This this this and then have your little debate. When MSU was in the Rosebowl 25 years ago, a high school friend was at Pepperdine so the side trip was necessary. I was dumbfounded and shocked and wondered how he could study there. Jebus.

ND's campus is great for a game day. I scored some Handicapp EE tickets once which parked us about 50 yards from the stadium for tailgating one year. Southbend sucks though

Love Ann Arbor the town, the golf course is epic fun, the stadium was one big suck until they built up the suites. It's loud now, and the stadium finally matches the saturday atmosphere. For years that was 100,000 people yelling straight up in the air and it never really got loud.

Come to Michigan State sometime, I'll get you a great tailgate spot and show you BY FAR the best looking girls in the big ten and where they hangout. I personally think MSU has a lot to work on as far as tailgate policies. The Admin sucks because after a ND night game years ago what happened. They really clamped down on tailgating.

Born in Milwaukee here, and if you have never been to Lambeau for a tailgate and game, you really aren't a football fan. It should be on everyone's bucket list.

Like an hour. Oxford is in the middle of nowhere near the IN border. True college town, had an unbelievable time there. It is super preppy just FYI. Amazing tail, you get whiplash walking to class. I visited quite a few schools and the women at Miami were top notch.

Madison is the best big ten party town. Not even close to any other. Wisconsin native here which by the Grace of God I became a Spartan. But Madison is Madison and I don't think anyone understands that unless you have been there.

  • The big10 in general is just phenominal for partying. No dry campuses except Nebraska.

Great party weekends in Madison, Champigne, and West Laf.

Unofficial at Illinois used to be absolutely legendary, but it got out of hand and the cops are turning guests away before they even get to campus nowadays.

And holloweem on Madison is legendary. I'd be surprised if there is a better college weekend around.

Duke and UCLA were the nicest I've seen.

Duke would probably be the nicest one I've seen as well. I actually got married to my ex wife in their little flower plaza about five years ago. My ex wife was got all her degrees from Duke. Funny thing about Duke is that Durham is a fvcking junktown ghetto outside of the campus itself.

I do enjoy Franklin Street but I'm a nutjob anyway. I mean I grew up in Birmingham for god's sake. Durham does have it's issues though.
