BEST campus you've ever seen...

  • RATT said...

Partied there many a day in my college years.

It's not the prettiest, but they party hard in IU. When you consider everything about the schools, I would take both Purdue and IU over Notre Dame.

I mean if you really want to make money, go to school at UE (my alma mater) or Rose Hullman for engineering. Notre Dame in business is correct as well.

But if you are just going for college experience, IU or Purdue would be my choices.

Yeah I was just talking about campus beauty. Save for UVA and maybe Princeton you couldn't have paid me to attend any of the schools on my list. College experience whole different list.

Sorry if retarded quest, but what's UE?

You learn real fvcking fast that "pretty" things on a campus don't mean dick.

Notre Dame has some of the ugliest women of any school in the country. I don't know why, but it is true. I went to school in Indiana and went to that campus many times. College is about a whole lot more than a pretty fountain in the middle of the campus.

Well again I never saw this whole ugly women thing. Maybe its because my boy lived in a sick dorm so they always had good wimmenz around but it was never an issue for me when I was there shrug

I go to IU and I guarantee that anybody who goes to little five will come away with the realization that IU is one of the best party schools in the country. It's only gotten crazier since the basketball team started its resurgence as well.

    University of Evansville.

It's nothing to write home about. Great Engineering school but it's about the same size as Wake Forest.

  • I have on good authority that Route 1 in College Park is better than Franklin Street. That being said I've probably enjoyed UNC's campus more than any other and there's a pretty good chance I go there for grad school.

I lived in Cary, NC for about three years and I will say that whomever you are hearing that from, I personally STRONGLY disagree with. Franklin Street is the shit and especially on Halloween. Those around know what I'm talking about when it comes to Franklin Street and Halloween.

    Best college campus? ND?

Maybe prettiest nominee, but I would much rather spend 5 years at many other schools.

Not much fun at ND and the gameday is kind of overrated. I've been many times and its just meh for all the hype it gets. I would rather go spend my collegiate years at many other schools in the Midwest.

The ND network is pretty amazing though. Go to business school there and you are pretty much set.

B school undergrad or MBA? Because compared to Kellogg and UChicago ND may as well be DeVry

Franklin Street was sooooo underwhelming to me but I was only there on Thanksgiving Weekend.

  • Soo am I the only one here that's been to Yale? Yale was a gorgeous campus, extremely laid back and tranquil. I visited out of high school a few times but I didn't want to move to the North East. Thinking back now, I probably should've gone but I'm satisfied with how things turned out for me.

Anyways, I loved walking around that place.

I am very close to ND having an great uncle who worked in the ministry. The business connections you make their are 2nd to none in Chicago. I think ND is something like a top 15 business school but what I'm saying is the ND network is powerful.

Obviously university of Chicago is the best business school in the entire world so I don't know what you want me to say on that.

How are Arizona and Arizona State? I know those 2 schools have some of the absolute most beautiful girls in the country but I've never seen their Campuses (is "campuses" a word?).

Anyways, I would love to visit AZ State or Zona for the tail alone.

ASU girls shit all over Miami (OH).. which is hard to do. A 10 at Miami (OH) is at BEST a 7 at ASU. Plus you're dealing with palm trees and blue skies. Hard to beat it.

edit: U Of A : gross. wouldn't waste my time, Tuscon is a shit hole.

UW isn't even the loudest stadium in the conference. The track around the field makes even front row seats feel like 30th row seats (it is being removed in the remodel they are currently doing though).

Ill give you the scenery and the lake/boats. Makes for a nice and unique environment.

I'll admit the stadium could likely be louder if it wasn't a guaranteed win going in there nowadays.

I'm assuming you we're likely there 10 or more years ago?

I was there for Dorsey's first game with the Canes in 2000 I believe it was.... I was also in the booth the next day for the Rams and Seahawks. It was shaking so bad, staff members started to get up during breaks to move away from the overhang. It's deafening. If they took the track away and closed off the one side (not the open side to the lake), you wouldn't be able to hear. Nothing.

I've been to most of the campuses in the big12. Of those I'd say UT was awesome. It has everything really. Austin is a cool place if you can ignore the longhorn bias. I also like Boulder.

In the big 10 I've been to quite a few. I like Iowa and Michigan. Never been to OSU or PSU so I can't say for sure but its be hard to beat Wisconsin. A rude, but crazy atmosphere on gameday and a tremendous campus. It's beautiful and the bar scene is pretty nice.

In the Sec I've been to a few. Tennessee, Bama, Vanderbilt, and Florida. Tough call on just those. Vanderbilt is right in Nashville. That is a win. But The other three were all really great atmospheres.

Nebraska is the best fan experience you'll have. I've heard ole miss is fun to ( if your white). Highly recommend visiting Lincoln if anyone is just looking for a fun weekend away from home. As long as you aren't a prick, chances are you'll befriend someone and get alot of beer for free.

Iowa was solid to me. Loved the fieldhouse to party and VERY cordial people there...

Iowa is famous for its drunk food. They was a guy who would Stand in the corner by the bars and sell turkey legs. He'd scream " turkeys legs..BIG F****** TURKEY LEGS!

He isn't there anymore and it made me sad last time I went this fall.

Iowa city is a nice place and the campus is beautiful. Never been to a football game somehow. So I can't say on that one

For those that haven't been to Madison, here is the view from the Union Terrace. Just a great spot to have a beer in late spring, summer, and early fall.

    HOLY SHIT.

UW wins though on better beer bars. New Glarus is great (I own a beer bar), but the beers in Seattle are number 2 in the country....
