Yea that's cute but it doesn't explain why I don't see Texas A&M memorabilia around Camp Lejeune. Not even from the Officers that graduated from A&M. I see a ton of Longhorn gear often.

But the answer is Texas Western in 1966, this was a huge upset that I'm surprised hasnt been made into a movie, Texas Western went through Kansas and then Kentucky in the final game played in College Park, MD. It was the first time an all african-american squad matched up vs an all white Kentucky squad, and it sparked controversy.
OH yeah and OU is in the house as well, The conference championship will return to Norman, its rightful place. November 17th in Morgantown will decide the championship.

Though I do not think OSU will be near as good as they were last year, they will not be a pushover at home for WVU, especially sandwiched between the home games with TCU and OU.

The last time Texas A&M finished in the Top 5 in football was in 1956. 1956! Let that sink in. This is a school that has more major NCAA infractions than any other school. A school that had to fire their beloved coach and AD to avoid the Death Penalty. And they still can't win.
TCU last finished in the Top 5 in 2010. WVU in 2005. Both are far better football programs than A&M. It is not even close. The SEC is a good conference. They needed a doormat that could provide TV markets. One that wouldn't increase the strength of schedule too much. A&M fit the bill nicely. Missouri was just filler to even out the numbers.

Whoa whoa whoa, that first conference game y'all have won't be an easy one. Baylor has a 5th year Sr at QB, a stout OL with multiple future NFLers on it, a receiving corps that has two guys able to put up 1000 yards receiving, and at RB we have Lache Seastrunk who had to sit out last year due to transferring from Oregon. Get ready for a shootout to welcome you to the Big 12.
But outside of that game I wish WVU nothing but good luck.
