I don't recall ever making a post stating A&M would be #1 in the SEC next year

What does that have to do with anything?

You act like having fans who didn't attend The University of Texas is somehow a bad thing. Speaking of which, didn't you just get accepted to aggy today? Doesn't that mean you've always been a "t-shirt fan?"

Side note: Since, by your own admission, you never actually served in the Marines and got injured in basic training, doesn't that also mean you have been and currently are a "t-shirt fan" of the Marines?

Even though he calls me a worthless biatch or f'ing idiot every other post, it is pretty cool that he got accepted to A&M. Congratulations USMCAG.

You mean the same Big East team that is 3-0 in BCS bowls while beating the ACC champ, Big 12 champ and SEC champ in the last 6 years? Oh yea, that Big East team. A Big East team that is 14th all time in wins. Give me a break.

I meant the Big East team that's lost 3 in a row to the SEC.

    Is that the same one?

I figured getting to play in the Big East and now the Big12 was enough of a break. Do you need anymore?

  • I think that Texas will be back to form next year, especially on defense, and will still finish 4th in the conference. Losing Nebraska really hurt the conference, but adding WVU and TCU makes up for that loss and then some. The other exits strengthened the conferernce.

The Big 12 has two teams in the top 10 schools, based on appearances in the final AP poll (2nd and 7th). The SEC has two teams as well, but they are not as highly ranked (4th and 9th). The future looks bright.

Beating 3 teams with winning records and having the bias on your side got you into the NC game. Bama's schedule was a JOKE last season. Playing the upcoming round robin Big 12 season will make teams have a higher SOS than SEC teams this season, just like last season. That won't matter, because the SEC has the bias. Just politics. That is all college sports are nowadays, and letting a Bama team with a 30-something SOS in over OSU proved it.

Don't you think that is a little arrogant to think a team that has gone 5-7 then 7-5 even with a top defense last year is now going to be back to form? I guess I still don't see a QB on the roster as Ash never fully separated himself from McCoy last year. Maybe a full spring of Ash getting QB1 reps will help, but I am also not sold on Harsin as a QB guru. Petersen has proven he is the brains behind the offense at Boise.

I see UT as an 7-9 win team next year, and will be earning a third straight loss to Baylor!

5-7 and 8-5. I think Texas wins 9-10 games next year. That is back to form even if it includes a loss to Baylor. We'll still be playing a lot of new players but hopefully not as many as last year.

Arrogant- Having an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities..... AKA Texas fans thinking they are going to run through the Big 12 next year basically just because they are Texas....

The Baylor D will only get better next year(it really can't get any worse) and didn't have a very hard time against the UT running game last year, also that Heisman trophy winner had one of the top offensive lines in the Big 12 which returns 3/5 starters and the new guys on the line are better than the ones leaving, we also have our own 5* RB in the backfield next year you might have heard of him Lache Seastrunk, we have three of our top four receivers returning from last year and a 5th yr Sr at QB and and offensive genius at HC....... Put all of those pieces together and you have an offense that is light years ahead of anything UT can run out there next year.

    Cool story bro.

And the #2 team in the Big12 had a chance to show that against the #3 team in the SEC West (a team that both Alabama and LSU destroyed by 24 each), but things didn't go so well.

    BetterOff

  • I'm excited about getting WVU and TCU. TCU mainly because I live in the metroplex and I can make it over to Ft. Worth to see the Pokes play some games easier. It'll be cool to have WVU come to stillwater next year.

I'll let you know my expectations for OSU after I see the QBs at the spring game.

I think OU will be good next year. I expect Texas to be a lot better and I'm glad we don't have to play them in Austin at least. My tech friends aren't too optimistic about their team next year but I don't know anything about their team. I don't know what to expect from Baylor. Iowa State could surprise some people (hopefully not us again). Kansas State is always a physical team. Should be interesting.

That's awesome. So now, we aren't talking about conference anymore? Talking about individual teams? SEC was very top heavy. Probably the most top heavy I have ever seen. SEC has top teams, Big 12 is the tougher conference to go through because its a round robin. You play every team, and you can't duck the other divisions top teams(USC, UGA anyone?).

I'm done arguing. I just like to argue when I'm bored. Just watched the pilot of Awake on NBC that I had recorded. It was pretty good, but it didn't blow me away. I'm gonna give it a few weeks before I judge. First day of work tomorrow! Can't wait!

Nobody said we would win the conference because we're Texas. People are assuming our defense won't go stupid and our offense will show some signs of improvement. With Ash actually getting reps with the first team offense, he should improve quite a bit. He won't be the top QB in the conference, but we really don't need a playmaker at QB to win with the talent around him.

Of course your defense could stop our running game. Our top 3 RBs never saw the field (injuries) and your defense could load the box with 8, or even 9, thanks to Case not being able to throw farther than 10 yards down the field. I wouldn't count on Case seeing the field much this year unless something goes horribly, horribly wrong. I also wouldn't count on our RB depth chart being obliterated due to injuries either.

Unless Briles is a much better coach than I give him credit for being, your offense should take a noticeable step back this year. RG3 (Heisman winner) and Kendall Wright (who accounted for roughly 40% of your production through the air) are both gone. Will your offense become Kansas? No, but I highly doubt it will be anywhere near where it was this year.
