    This is the only thing I could find and it was from Charles Power:

    Sources close to the situation indicate that Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School defensive lineman Henry Poggi will be taking an official visit to Alabama on January 11. Poggi is committed to Michigan and the Wolverines have decommitted every commit who has taken an official visit elsewhere this year- so that should indicate how serious Poggi is about Alabama. Michigan has continued to recruit those prospects and that should be the case with Poggi as well, but the visit itself is telling.

    **** Just a note that this is the first time I've even heard the guys name (Poggi's) and I never go over to BOL so I don't know how good Charles Power's info is or where he is hearing this.

    I don't know what's going on with him, But I've followed recruiting for more that a decade and he would not be the first to lie about it. Luther Davis said he was not going to Bama either for an OV so his ship would not be pulled and he showed up. They found out and he ended up at Bama. All I know is, Tim knows his stuff and has owned BOL forever. He's not lying. We will see what happens. Maybe they let the cat out of the bag and they were not supposed to.

    I don't doubt he is lying, but there is a difference between lying and being wrong. He's wrong IMO.

    Well I guess we will all know on the 11th. He very well might have planned on sneaking in the visit and won't now that it's been made public.

  • Honestly, both sides have reason to be optimistic and pessimistic. They have rock-solid sources saying a visit will happen. Rock solid sources are reliable but can be wrong. We have Poggi denying it. That should be reliable but recruits often lie.

    Nothing to do now but just wait and see what happens.

  • People going full rainman mode if they thing Wiltfong posted anything based off an insider. No one said Poggi is switching. He just contacted about taking an OV. The odd part is that Michigan has decommitted other guys for doing so. If they would do that to him, it would make one think a minute.

    Could be that word has gone down that Bama is out for Tunsil and it seems more appealing for Poggi to possible play at an elite program sooner than it seemed possible before.

    Who knows, but no staff members are quoting message board insiders as sources I can assure you.

    FWIW, I remember a lot of Michigan fans that thought Dee Hart was a lock as well.

    Locks come with signatures and nothing more.

  • This is what Tim Watts posted on BOL. He's not a rumor starter. I'm sure others will disagree with that, but he's just not.

    On Poggi he has made plans to take an official visit to Alabama. The source we have on this is as close as it gets to Poggi. Also heard it from the other side.

    On a side note David Dawson was the commitment Reggie Ragland and DeMarcus Walker tweeted about that night. He called several UA commitments and told them he was committing to UA. However UA had Hill back in the fold and passed.

    We will see how it plays out but 100% for sure Poggi had made plans to officially visit Tuscaloosa on January 11th. Charles spoke to the source today with 2 witnesses with him.

    We will leave it at that. And its January and recruiting. Lot of odds things happen this time of the year.

    It sounds like Michigan fans are making an issue out of something that no Bama on this board is. The OP asked a question and we posted what we are hearing from our staff. There is not one Bama fan ITT saying that we know one way or the other. You asked where we were getting it from and we posted what we knew.

    Has anyone ITT said that we expect him to commit to Bama? We will know on the 11th which staff is right about the visit. No reason to bitch about it at this point.     Honestly,

    Our staff might have helped you out by posting this information. If Hoke really pulls schollie offers for visiting other schools, they might have killed the visit before it ever happened, it it was even in the works. He may have wanted to sneak in a visit, and if he was, the discretion is gone now.
