I realize people pull out of the pro bowl, but they select alternates to replace anybody who pulls out ahead of time. They just dont randomly replace them. Cam was selected as the first alternate at quarterback for the NFC pro bowl team along with being rookie of the year. When a quarterback for the NFC pulled out of the game, Cam went in his place since he was the first alternate

I agree with you. But it's not like Auburn or their coaches developed Cam. He was on campus for less than a year and if anything, Malzahn held him back. Why in the hell didn't he let that guy throw the football in college?

I agree that it took Malzahn a long time to realize what he had in Cam, but Cam also made huge strides in his game under Gus. So to say he wasn't developed would be grossly inaccurate.

No one in their mind ever thought anyone but cam had anything to do with the success that he had..u cannot develop a player in one year..watch Dee Milliner who started his freshman year and this coming year and you will see what the word development means..Coaches put players in the right places to succeed, but i couldve put Cam in the right place..every coach can put the player in the right place, its getting them to perform at certain level and knowledge that is the difference..and one year doesnt correlate to "development"

no correlation there... Cam benefitted from being in a couple different systems and also learning from mistakes in his life off the field... Once any great athlete learns that he can't survive by ability alone, and starts putting in the work then he reaps the benefits. Also i don't believe in what you call putting a player in the right place. It's all about repetition, learning a system, learning from mistakes and trusting the guys around you.... You can't teach confidence. Your comparing a true freshman to a guy who played in three systems and was three years older by the time Gus got a hold of him... Of course I don't give Gus all the credit for Cam.... certainly Mullen and his JUCO coach helped him along the way, but for you to totally dismiss what Gus was able to do with him is ignorant.

  • I think you all forget exactly who it is we're talking about here, this is reuben foster guys the best I've ever seen in my short life coming out of high school. The guy has enough talent to go as a first rounder and probably top 5 no matter if he plays at auburn bama or Appalachian state it does not matter, this kid needs no ones help as far as the league goes as long as he does what he needs to in college.

    +1

All I've heard from bama fans is that RF shouldn't have to worry about playing time anywhere, because he's the most amazing LB prospect in a generation, and would be a star on any team. Now that he's showing some interest in Auburn, he would be a second rounder at best? Which is it? (Insert wanking hand motion)

  • Its just a troll because you don't like it... face it, Foster is heavily considering flipping and so is Tray.

Under Shula, I would care, with Saban not so much. If it happens then I hope he enjoys his time on the plains and losing tens of millions of dollars going in the second round after his junior year as opposed to going in the first.
