You changed your name then? Let me guess, it has something to do with the barner circle jerk, yes?

You seem to be letting the Internet annoy you today. Are you having a bad Sunday?

That I changed my name? Yes. That it has something to do with the Internet sensation that is the nWo Blue & Orange? Sort of. I consider myself perfect in every way, though, and recently rolled a 300 game so it works on two fronts.

Just curious when the last dual threat QB hurt Bama's D? Cam lit us up in the 2nd half in '10 through the air, but he couldn't run. Averaged something like 2 - 3 yards / carry.

You guys did well with Jefferson in the natty but in the first game not so much. Even georgia state gave you guys a challenge and rushed for a bunch of yards. Other than that, you guys didn't play many dual threat QB's last year. But when you do, you struggle a little. Denard Robinson may pose a challenge there with a somewhat new defense.

You think he can throw the ball. This isn't ND. Throwing up duck prayers will lead to a 30 pt loss.

If we didn't do well against him in the first game, our standards are apparently higher than I thought. Jefferson rushed for 43 yards on 11 carries and threw for 67 total yards in game 1. Further, LSU had a total of 148 rushing and 91 passing yards.

Ga Southern wasn't a dual threat QB that got us, it was their little RB gashing us. You could tell we weren't ready for that game, but gotta give Ga Southern credit. They do what they do very well, and it's tough to prepare for.

So again, I simply ask for 1 example of us struggling with a dual threat QB within the past 2 seasons.

You truly believe Denard is elite talent? Not an NFL QB by any stretch of the imagination, while Cam is.

  • Look, you guys do well because your defense is great, but what I'm saying a dual threat QB can cause bama some concern, and with a very good Denard Robinson playing a half new denfense, it could pose some threat for bama. I think your talent on D makes up for the concern you will have containing him, but it will be an interesting matchup nonetheless. A pocket passer is usually a sitting duck and poses absolutley no threat to the bama defense, but Robinson may.

It would be a different story if Denard could run and throw the ball (IE Cam Newton). However, he throws a bunch of crap in the air and has poor decision making as a QB. Plus the SEC speed will affect him greatly.

People are forgetting that nearly no NFL team thought that Cam could play quarterback until the draft work-outs. In that regard, Denard is at the same level Cam was going into his senior year. Both Cam and Denard are elite college football players.

But hey, whatever makes you guys feel better about playing us, go ahead and believe.

Fair enough there, I just wanted to debunk the bizarre theory that Bama struggles against dual threat QB's. The last Tebow game we punk'd him, Colt McCoy curled up in the fetal in the first quarter, and no QB since either has been able to both successfully run and throw against us. Including in 2010 when we had 9 new starters on D.

Denard COULD pose a problem for us, but there is no precedent for it. His arm isn't remotely a concern, IMO.

I watched enough of the sugar bowl. 9/21 for 117 yards and a INT. VT tech had a solid defense but facing us is a whole other animal.
