  • Who's starting opposite of Milner and who is the 3rd corner?

Also, who is replacing Barron, Upshaw and Hightower? Nico, Mosley...?

Thanks, also, do they have any SEC experience?

  • Dixon will be our #1 corner. Fulton is probably our #3 corner.

  • Probably either Travell Dixon or Deion Belue (both JUCO transfers). John Fulton will provide depth provided he's still here next fall. We also redshirted a few guys including Bradley Sylve from your neck of the woods. Saban loves that kid and moved him to corner last fall. He's the fastest guy on the team.

Sunseri will likely start in Barron's spot, but Clinton Dix will play a ton and Landon Collins is too good to keep off the field. At LB, Nico, Mosley, and Depriest will be certain starters with Hubbard and Xzavier Dickson battling for the other spot if I had to guess.

I agree with what he said except Dix over Sunseri

Sunseri is going to start. Trust me on this one. He knows the defense better than Kirby Smart :) Clinton Dix will play a ton in nickel/dime to the point where he will "start" a lot of games.

  • Starting D with experience list:

DE- Square: Has started the last 2 years. Good player.
NT- Ivory: First timer with limited in game experience
DE- Williams: 2nd year starting, man beast

Jack- Dickson/Hubbard: Dickson with very little game experience if any, and Hubbard played a decent amount in a few games last year. Both will get an average grade of B for me.
Will- N. Johnson: Started in '09 after the Arkansas game, saw a LOT of playing time since then. Great player
Mike- T. DePriest: Beast on special teams, played sparingly on D in some games. Great player
Sam- Mosley: Has played a LOT the last 2 years. Man beast.

CB- Milliner: Solid player could be one of the first corners taken next year.
CB- Belue/Dixon: Both are gonna be more than suitable for the opposite CBspot next year. Player grades= B. First time Starters.
SS- Sunseri: Played a good amount last year, Great player. He just knows where to be.
FS- Lester: This will be his 3rd year starting, he is better than good but not great. One of those guys who can make you pay and can create plays but not on a Barron level IMO.

Our D isn't as inexperienced as many want to believe. Toughest test of the year= Arkansas, no disrespect to LSU(I actually think that y'all have the best chance to beat us) but Arkansas catches us earlier in the year which is good for them.

Milliner is actually about 6-6'1" I believe. but Dixon measured at 6'2" on here and Belue about 6'. Sunseri is right at 5'11" or 6'.

I guess you just got a bad angle? He isn't quite as tall as Dre but taller than Menzie.

  • Yeah, I guess it's his build. Didn't seem as thick as Menzie or tall as Dre but very fast with good hips.

YEah, i think you got that right. not as thick as one or as tall as the other. He could be an all-SEC type of player. He caught a lot of crap for his first year but I think he is a good one.

What is LSU looking like next year?

I thought Hayes was moving to TE?

And I think HCD will get the start over Sunseri but I wouldn't be surprised if the reverse was true.

Why do people keep saying this? Is it b/c HaHa was a 5 star and Vinnie a 3 star? Vinnie played much much more last year and that's not going to change.

I think that is part of it. I also think that HaHa will get more reps at the true FS position in games, especially when in nickel coverages, as Vinnie should move up to the Star and Money positions quite a bit, unless the Money is filled by on of the LBers like CJ or Trey.

I wouldn't list one ahead of the other because I think the obvious reason Vinnie go the playing time was that he knew the defense already, partly because he is a little smater possibly and partly because his dad had probably been teaching him it for the past 3 or 4 years. Saban and Smart were just more comfortable in him not have breakdowns.

I would give Vinnie a slight edge so far, but I wouldn't call it either way. Both should play plenty though, IMO.

I think people under estimate Vinnies physical ability because he's white too. That guy can run and hit as good as anyone in our secondary. The only advantage Haha has is height.

HaHa is a little faster, but that is not as important from the Safety spot to begin with and the difference is very minimal.

I think it has a little to do with him being white, but also has a lot to do with him being a middle linebacker in high school.

The initial discussions on BOL was whether he could put on the size for LBer and then when people realized he was going to move to safety, the natural wonder is speed.

What he may lack in top end speed (which isn't a big deal, IMO) he definitely makes up for with explosiveness and being extremely quicke.

I agree that he got labled with that "smart player/special teams specialist" because of being white, but I also think people have assumed HaHa has had a tougher time with the playbook beacause black. Let's face it, the kid that grew up with a dad as a coach at Alabama that has been able to study the playbook for the last 4 years is going to have a slight advantage there.

John Fulton will provide depth provided he's still here next fall.

You think there's a chance he leaves?

I catch hell from Bama fans whenever I bring up that he's not going to start and/or it wasn't the wisest choice for him to go there. That's assuming playing a lot on defense and getting to the league was his intention over winning MNCs as a special teamer, providing depth, and getting a college degree.
