Bama guys.....

  • who do you think you will finish your class with? Did the DL you have/had enroll with you guys or Florida?

    Golfguy

  • Absolutely no idea at this point. There are a 100 different possibilities and I'm not even sure how many we are taking. I'd say I feel very good about Dee Liner, Vonn Bell, and Alvin Kamara right now.

    Also, Walker went to FSU.

I'll be honest ... this is the first year that I really haven't followed it as close. I've decided that I just no longer worry about it with Saban there. No need to.

He is, but the biggest thing guys like Jimbo have to understand is it's not assistant coaches and random players why Alabama is successful. We have plugged in a bunch of guys every time after others have left and never missed a beat. These assistant coaches who left have never had any success of their own. The reason they won is they coached with Saban. It's that simple. It's Saban, not his assistants. Jimbo will fail and FSU will have a new head coach in 2 years tops.

  • I think we are get Liner and Kamara.

I think Bell is the one that i think Bama has a slight lead for right now, but things with him are really getting started between us and Ohio State.

We will know more about Tunsil this weekend, but i think that one is a 50/50 with UGA.

If we do not feel good about Tunsil towards NSD then we will go after Golson hard.

We get our one shot with Matthew Thomas this weekend, but i think we are a longshot.

Eddie Vanderdoes is one to watch out for. he contacted the staff, and is very interested, if he makes his trip to Bama I think we and USC will fight it out for him, with ND being the darkhorse.

Tony Conner says we are the leader, but me and others dont really buy that. Ole Miss will be hard to beat out for him, and i dont see that happening

Also Eddie Jackson (whos stock will soar in the next weeks) will be a good one to watch for but i think FSU is too far ahead here, but who knows right now. He takes his FSU visit this weekend then to Bama next week.

Then there Poggi, who is saying he is visiting his former teammate at Alabama is the reason for an official visit: But I dont see how anyone would believe that. If he makes the trip this one will be fun to watch.

If I had to guess this would be the options:
    Alvin Kamara
    Dee Liner
    Bell/Conner/Eddie Jackson
    Tunsil/Golson
    Poggi/Vanderdoes

5-7 are possible with some like: Reuben Foster, Nate Andrews, Chris Jones (If we can get an official) that could come into the picture in teh next few weeks.

  • Did Poggi make the trip?

I know that was a big item of conversation between us and Michigan fans as to whether he was coming this weekend or not.

Okay it was originally stated that he was coming in today. At least earlier this week. As long as we get him on campus it looks good for us.

How do you think Kirby Smart would do on his own?

Only time will tell. I hope for the best, but you never know until they actually get out there and do it.

I also think Weedline is taking it a bit far. Muschamp and Fisher aren't exactly doing shitty jobs.

Think you have EV confused ND/USC will fight it out with Alabama the darkhorse. Honestly think SC has no shot now so where he goes is anyone's guess.

That has been the consensus that I read on him, but there has to be something said when a kid isn't contacted by your program and the kid contacts you. Especially shortly after decommitting from USC. I still think that Notre Dame will get him unless he is either straight blown away on his visit, OR Brian Kelly actually goes to the NFL.

I agree with this. When he gets a visit date set, I'll be cautiously optimistic... but he apparently really likes the idea of playing here, at least.

EVD is USC's to lose. He has developed a tight-knit bond with fellow USC commits and even said that USC has emerged as his favorite at the AA game. Moreover, Ed Orgeron, with whom he spoke on the phone last night, is Eddie's favorite coach. Finally, Eddie had stated that he prefers the 4-3 defense to the 3-4. As long as USC's new d-coordinator keeps the 4-3 defense in place, the Trojans are the heavy favorites to land Vanderdoes.

For the record, the battle for Vanderdoes is down to UCLA and USC, with ND and Bama both being darkhorses.

Then why did he decommit in the first damn place?

He wanted to reconsider his options. For a minute, he was a UCLA lean, but it seems as though USC is back in the lead.

    Alright fair enough.

I'm sure you guys are more tapped into his recruitment than I am so I won't doubt you. Still have hope on Bama's end seeing as though he contacted us and plans on visiting. I think it's a longshot but we at least have a shot. All you can ask for is a shot at him on campus.

  • I would prolly say there will be 2 guys late on signing day that come aboard that weren't expected to throughout the entire process. Like a Eddie Lacy or Korren Kirven type thing. Saban seems to have so many angles covered in the recruiting game. Hard to imagine who else he will snag late this class. We all know he put recruiting on the back burner in the whole month of Dec. Now he's back at it, and no one knows for sure what could happen. But what we know is that this weekend and next weekend are pretty big OV's lined up. Recruiting is...well...recruiting lol.
