Within the first 5 minutes of being hired I would bring in Chizik. I would hand him $7.5 million and tell him never show his face in Auburn again. So the remaining coaches would be: Luper- great recruiter. Thigpen- Great recruiter. BVG- DC and our spec teams coach.... he is not going anywhere.
Then I would hire Bobby MF'n Petrino as my HC. He doesn't care about defense, so I firmly believe that he would let BVG hire who he wants. If he wants to fire Thigpen, he can... Thigpen is just a good recruiter. I would let Bobby hire whomever he wants. However if he wants to fire BVG, he may also do that. I would then overpay Butch Davis to be a DC for a few years and to get his name back. So in essence, I am running a coach rehab center. I want hungry coaches looking for redemption. I want them bc I believe they will do the right thing and only bang blondes on away games.
My one thing with Bobby is he HAS TO HIRE THE MEANEST SOB there is to coach the offensive line... Hugh Nallesque. I want to see chop blocking on the reg. I want the dirtiest offensive line in America because the current players are a bunch of vaginas, cough cough Patrick Miller. And Bama's assisstant strength coordinator. Fvck Yox. He sucks... I don't get the love for him... look at our players getting their ass kicked every saturday.
so... yeah. I haven't taken my adhd meds yet, but that looks alright. Well, maybe I will come back and change it to a more professional approach. But you have to admit, that would be interesting.
I love the coach rehab center!
Maybe Barbee could bring in Billy Gillespie to help with the basketball program as well.

The only way I will take Auburn seriously is if they fire jay Jacobs and then hire an AD from the outside.
Then they need to fire every single coach. Porn stash included. Then they need to hire a coach that has no connections to auburn. If that coach wants to hire van gorder back then that's his choice...but make it his choice.
No big time coach is going to come in and not have a choice about who is on his staff, and I wouldn't respect one who agreed to something like that. Give him complete control.
Auburn needs a clean break. If they keep the d coordinator and hire patrino I will laugh...that's not raising the bar at all.

Honestly there isn't a viable/realistic option Auburn can hire that worries me. Now, can Auburn get a good coach like a Golden or a Strong? Sure, they're a good program with plenty of money to spend. Still, Saban is undoubtedly the best coach in the game right now, has finally built his program into a well-oiled machine, and he has all the money/resources he could ask for to keep it going as long as he's able.
Auburn doesn't have Bama's resources (tradition/easier to recruit), won't have a coach as good as Saban, and will have to build the program back up from its awful present state.
This is exactly how I felt when Chizik was hired except for two things - I didn't expect Auburn to get a once in a generation player which for one season kept Auburn from losing 5+ games (which they would've w/o Cam), and back in 2009 Saban's program was just getting going...now it's a behemoth. I think Auburn can get a coach who will win a lot of games and compete in the SEC but not with Saban consistently.

I think he's making reference to when Charles Barkley was bitching about Turner Gill not being hired at Auburn when Chiz was....He was right about Chizik being a sorry ass coach, but wrong about Turner Gill being a bad one.
I love Charles, mostly because people get so riled up over every little thing he says which is exactly what he wants, but I really...REALLY hate when the race card gets played.

For the most part bammer had a trainwreck of losers for 30 years before saban arrived and now you think you can get any coach you want. I am going to laugh my ass off when he leaves and bammer goes back to the Mike Shula's, Mike DuBose's, Ray Perkins, or Bill Curry's of the world

Not at Arkansas, but Auburn can pull in a lot more than Arkansas can. I'm not saying you would be expecting to get beat, but Petrino at Auburn would turn some heads. He could do a lot with Auburn's resources and would be nothing for your fanbase to smirk at and shrug off.

Correct. And you shouldn't listen to him. Turner Gill wasn't ready for that job. Although he was as qualified as Chizik, I think we can all agree on that.
Charlie Strong is different. What about Brent Pease down at Florida?
