Bama posters....serious question ITT

    I was being sarcastic

Even if you weren't, Shula was not a good coach on Saturdays and he really should thank Joe Kines for him having the success he did have, honestly, but he definitely built back up the talent level as best he could with the number of scholarships he had. They did a great job of evaluating and getting some guys that weren't top prospects.

I'll concede that but not that CPB had Arky on LSU's level.

Agree. He had the playmakers and QBs that compete with anyone in a one game scenario, but he didn't have the depth or the consistancy on defense to get it done overall though.

I don't think that was on Bobby Petrino as much as I do Arkansas though. If would have been there in the late 90's, he would have won the West two or three times, IMO. He just happened to be there while LSU has been at its best and since Bama came back on the scene. Then, the one year that both of them weren't the team, Auburn has their amazing run.

I agree completely. I was being sarcastic but I have been complimentary of Shula over the years. He walked into a bad situation and still produced decent results. He kept the program out of trouble for the most part and laid the foundation for an elite coach to come in and be able to build a successful program. Sad part is he was pretty much a sacrificial lamb and should have been thanked but wasn't. I know most don't agree but that's just one mans opinion.

God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.

I'm with you. There is part of me that thinks Lane Kiffin could end up getting the same treatment at USC if he doesn't break through and win a PAC12 title or 2 over the next few years.

I wish the University could mend that relationship with Mike as he was a great player at Bama as well.
