Mettenberger played a near flawless game fitting the ball in the tightest of windows to receivers with incredible focus. That LSU team that played such inspired ball last night would beat every team in the country by 30.
Glad we snuck out of that place. Yes Bama's D is very much better than NDs.

Not only that but his incompletions were thrown near the WR where only the WR could have come up with the ball. We had what I thought were easily 2 or 3 picks. He threw the ball such that our DB had no chance to make a play. Team will probably use this gamefilm and attack 35, 27, and 13 in coverage more. While 35 & 27 surely did stink in pass coverage, everytime Belue (13) was in perfect coverage, Mettenberger threw a Tom Brady type pass (see the 14 yd fade TD pass as reference).
My only concern is that the LSU win will look bad when they sleepwalk against MSU next week and could very well lose b/c losing a game like this can kill a season (see 2007 Bama after they blew it against LSU).

To the original question:
Bama has given up 17 points - once. To the #5 team in the country.
ND, on the other hand, has given up 17 to Purdue, 14 to BYU, and 20 to Pitt. And all 3 of those games were in question. And all three of those teams rank worse than LSU in scoring.
LSU got the best QB play they've gotten in a game in 10 years. And still only scored 17.
