Both great, I like The Pacific better, not enough covering the Pacific Theater of war. Also for those talking about POWs in Japan, check out the book Unbroken, haven't read it myself, but have heard good things. I did have my history class read a chapter from it, to give them an idea.

Band of Brothers. Was hooked from the start on that, never could really get into The Pacific.

My father was part of the liberating forces...and he hated the German's until he pased away, and he never fought in the war, per se.

I can only imagine the horrific scene in those camps...daddy was young and very family oriented - a wonderful and loving father, and even better grandfather. He never talked about it to the women of the family, but my brother and cousins told us that my father said that men cried when they walked into that nightmare scene, appalled by the cruelty.

Killing women and children moves up the horror of it for most of our soldiers, and the manner in which the murders were carried out.

Band of Brothers was excellent, I own it.

Me too. It is the only DVD set that I actually want to keep. I don't give an ish about my other DVD's.

Watched them both and thought they both were great shows...I have to lean towards The Pacific because when I read the credits I realized I had known one of the main characters for most of my life. Sledge Hammer was actually Doctor Eugene Sledge the Dean of the Science Department at the University of Montevallo which is in the the town where I grew up.

Pacific was amazing but Band of Brothers is just too good to not get the vote.
