  • More! This one shows the LMG bi-pod functionality and some scopes for the LMG. Also, it's nice to see there are LMG's without 100+ bullets. There might be with later unlocks but the one in the video seems to cap at 46.

  • Assault with shock paddles and bolt action sniper rifles.

    One thing I'm not liking is the really long knife kill animation. I looked up on twitter and "demize99" said it's still being worked on which is a good sign because a 2-3 second knife animation typically means you're going to get shot by an opposing squad member quickly. Also, knife kill is giving you 300 points so maybe they want you to think about it if it's safe or not for the extra 200 points over a gun kill.

    Also, I never really noticed it before but if you're zoomed in and you get up from prone there's a definite animation that impairs your site which is fantastic. It should've been like that forever intstead of getting up in a perfectly straight line like most shooters.

    It seems like some of the things left out in the pre-alpha build is still isn't in the alpha build. I've also seen some strange lighting effects and some sounds not coming through correctly. Since it's being posted on youtube by random alpha testers this could obviously be their fault because of their capturing equipment.

  • They're all pc I believe, I think the alpha is only available on pc right now. Also, another clue would be whenever a kit is run over by a soldier is show to "press r to pick up". One more is that I haven't seen any prompts to press any of the consoles buttons like X,O or Δ. From what I've seen on other boards they're on medium settings because the highest settings visuals haven't been nailed down yet. I'm thinking what you're seeing right now is something close to what the consoles will look like. It still looks fantastic.

    The guy in the ign article said there was no frame drops in the PS3 alpha BETA that he played. Said it ran smooth as silk. That is promising to hear. Of course that could change on the larger maps of Conquest with jets and choppers.

    It should definitely help the consoles that they're having an fps limit of 30. I'm not positive on this but I think if it has a cap of 30 that means there won't be additional power trying to hit the 60fps cap on pc's which means additional cpu/gpu power won't be used which would keep the game from slowing down.

    Like you said that was on a small map without a lot going on. Plus they had certain effects turned off. Still sounds promising.

  • It's kind of neat that they show you the enemies squad leader through symbols. He would usually be a prime target so the squad members can't spawn on him.

    Im not worried. It will look better than BFBC2 and BFBC2 looks/plays better than any COD to date.

    I saw that video earlier on IGN but wasn't aware that it was running on consoles. Looks pretty damn good to me.

    I like the new knife kill animations. I like that you get more for a knife kill also. It makes it a little more strategic. I loved the knife kill animations in Killzone 3. It makes knife kills very satisfying.

  • I hope you're right and I think you will be. For the PS3 beta, you were given Arica Harbor and the PC was given Port Valdez. I can't imagine they would want to have people test the same thing. They're just testing out the infantry now and hopefully when the beta hits, it will be time to test out the larger maps with more vehicle play.
