Right now some people in the alpha are stating that August 1st is supposed to be the last day. So I'm guessing shortly after that, there will be some details on the beta.

Everything has been PC unless otherwise stated. The alpha is only on the PC currently so unless it's released by DICE/EA, it's going to be PC footage.

This is a comparison of the visuals from the single player of PC vs PS3. This should give us a good idea of the differences between PC and console. The major thing that I notice is the lighting is much better on PC.

Part 2. These show as you would imagine how a lot of the things can be added to your loadout. Some of the other things shown is some of the bugs/lack of animation in this build of the game. Things like no recoil on certain handguns and missing shadows.

I am not sure I like the sprint perk. That feels a little bit like COD to me. Hopefully they keep it pretty balanced.

I thought the same thing. I think 5% would be plenty of a boost over all. I think the thing that will keep it from cod though at least for me is that you can't just sprint around and quick knife people. It sounds like it's going to be 2 knife stabs to the front and then the automatic knife animation if from behind.

I like the level of customization on this one. Much more in depth than Bad Company. Some really cool weapons and attachments. I wish that guy would have had more weapons unlocked. I was watching the kill scroll going across the screen and I saw the AK74U-M a lot. I would have liked to see that weapon.
I am sure there is about to be a lot more footage of this game coming out once the beta is released.

All the guns sounds amazing. I'm really happy with it. The sound team at DICE knows something that no other studio does apparently.

Yeah they are so far ahead of everyone else when it comes to sound. I can't think of a game that even comes close to them. Killzone is the only game that I have played that is in the same stratosphere.

I have read that they are doing an overhaul on their sound for MW3. I am sure that it will still not be anywhere close to BF.
I read in BF3 they are going for more of a documentary style sound. In BC2 they used more of a theatrical style sound.

In BC2 on the consoles were there any additional sound options for you guys? On PC we had something called "war tapes" and it simply sounded amazing.
