It was just a different sound option if you had the hardware to support it. There are some comparisons on youtube but it's not all that prevalent unless you have the speakers to really belt it out. You might check it out next time you long onto BC2 if it's there or not.

I am watching some more videos from YourGamingTeam. Lots of good stuff if you pay attention. When this guy is getting killed I can see what other people have equipped on their guns. There is a lot of stuff that I didn't see in the customization video earlier.

Also I would like to see some play with the foregrip. I want to know if the grip actually shows up. That always bothers me when it doesn't show up on games.

Alpha impressions. If you never played played BF2 you might be a little in the dark with some of it. But for the most part everything in the impressions are very good things.

Here are some concerns I have with some of these impressions:

1. 3D spotting has been revised. It feels like you need to be more accurate when spotting enemies than in Bad Company 2.

I really wish the spotting mechanic was only shown on the map without an orange triangle above the enemies head. A lot of the time before I started playing on hardcore servers the maps that were more jungle oriented just turned into shooting at the triangles. We would have zero idea people were and it was just a triangle shooting simulator.

2. Hit detection feels much better than in Bad Company 2.

Not sure if this was a huge problem on the console version but on PC especially at first, was a huge problem. Constantly hearing a headshot sound and there wouldn't even be a hit marker light up was beyond frustrating.

3. No commo rose

Not a big deal whatsoever now since everyone has headsets that let you talk to your team/squad. If you're unsure what the commo rose was, the pic I uploaded shows it in detail. Basically just a way to give more detailed orders.

4. There are now faction specific weapons and rocket launchers.

This is just awesome. Doesn't make a ton of sense for Russians to have American guns or vice versa. Just more attention to detail which is nice.

5. The game feels a lot more like Battlefield 2 than Bad Company 2, contrary to what many people think. It was hard to comment on pace, since it’s Rush, limited to 32 players, with tight combat areas — so pacing will naturally be fast. On open, conquest maps with 64 players, I can imagine it feels a lot more like BF2. Also, note that these impressions are for an alpha version — it’s far from a finished product.

It's nice to see that there is a cap of 32 for rush on PC. Having more than that would just turn everything into a blood bath and the objectives would never be completed.

Good video. Dont know if you noticed but throughout the video he has a laser attached under his carbine to go with his iron sights. Im guessing thats possibly for hip fire.

Was just watching this video where some swedish battlefield guy is answering people's questions. Aussie's question about foregrips got answered and the guy couldnt pronounce his name. It even shows his name and post at the top. Video towards the bottom at the 1:48 mark.

It will still be the best FPS to ever hit console. Guaranteed.

Electronic Arts has boasted that Battlefield 3 pre-order figures are ten times those of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It would appear that the hype and gorgeous graphics are paying off.

By all accounts, Battlefield 3 is going to be one of the most serious contenders for the First-person-shooter crown we've seen in a long time. EA has sunk a ridiculous amount of money into its advertising, and the huge marketing push has paid off.

Of course, Call of Duty, which can't help but be brought up thanks to EA's obsessive comparisons, continues to grow each year, so Battlefield 3 has a tough fight on its hands if it wants to be crowned king of all military shooters.

Sometimes I wish I enjoyed the mouse and keyboard more than I do. I would still be a PC gamer if I did.
