Be brutally honest about your team....

  • 1. AJ/Sims produce and we find a decent replacement for Carpenter at LT and win NC
    2. lose 3 games of these 4- LSU, ARKY, @Miss. St, @UF
    3. QB play and LT
    RMFT!

Better to pull for sh*tty teams than be a fan of the Lakers, Steelers, Yankees, and Miami Heat like some on this board are.

I honestly don't know how many more years of us sucking and Dabo going full Dabo I can take.

Dude other than the Heat, I don't have much to cheer for: Hurricanes,Dolphins, Marlins. Let me have somethinglol

    1. Bama goes 14-0 and Trent Richardson wins the Heisman. Our defense is going to be sick

    2. 10-3, injuries and bad QB play

    3. QB- We have two young QB's fighting for the starting job. One is a redshirt freshman and the other is a redshirt sophomore. They are both talented, but young and don't have a lot of experience. If they have a really bad season, we could lose a game or two we are not supposed to. But that is the case with pretty much every team.

    What he said except #3................................................
My #3 is if we get into a dogfight with any team this year and it comes down to the kicking game, long FG or many punts and field position, we are on the short end of this stick.

  • Brutally honest?

OU is expected to be at or near the top. I expect them to lose a game or two. They will be in the mix most of the season but lose a game they should win at the end of the season, knocking them out of the hunt.

Offense will be good, only question is RB but there is a lot of talent waiting for the chance. It will be interesting to see this play out.

This could be one of our best defenses in a long time. Should be a fun year.

    2) 0-14, Expelled from Big Ten, NCAA Sanctions, Death Penalty.
    3) Scoring less than given opponent

Give me a 1)Best case scenario for your team, 2) worst case scenario for your team and 3) the area of your team that you think could cost you a game(s) or even your season.

    For Nebraska,

    1. Best Case Scenario:
We rock Washington in Lincoln with the embarrassing bowl performance in mind, and then ease on through Wyoming to get to Wisconsin. At Camp Randall, Taylor Martinez and Co. play incredibly under the lights as junior running back Rex Burkhead goes nuts out of the WildCat, and multiple freshman (Jamal Turner at WR, Braylon Heard at RB) have big games that throw them into the national spotlight as the spark to Nebraska's offense. After a decisive win, Nebraska then rolls on to beat Ohio State at home in Tressel and Pryor's first game back. Nebraska is officially rolling on all cylinders, and cracks the Top 5. The Huskers proceed to topple Michigan State, Penn State, Michigan, and eventually Iowa on Black Friday. Then head to the inaugural Big Ten Championship game, where they beat [insert team here] and wait to find out if they play for their first national title since 2001.

    2. Worst Case Scenario:
One of the non-conference games proves to be a trap game, and we come into Big Ten play at 3-1. Embarrassed because we dropped a game in an incredibly easy non-conference slate (Tennessee at Chattanooga, Fresno St, Washington, Wyoming), Wisconsin dominates a Barney Cotton offensive line and infuriates the Nebraska fan base. The next week is a flame festival online, and Bo's boys don't emotionally recover in time for Ohio State. Pryor comes out playing like he's got something to prove. After being asked by Erin Andrews, "Are you looking forward to playing tight end in the NFL after the lock out?" he throws 6 touchdown passes after Alfonzo Dennard goes out injured. We then drop games at Penn State and at Michigan. Bo Pelini fires Barny Cotton (which is actually not a worst case scenario).

    3. Area of Team That Could Cost Us:
Hard to choose, as it comes down to QBs and RBs in my opinion.

I'm sure everyone saw the two sides of Taylor Martinez: Pre-injury like at Kansas State, and post-injury like at A&M. If Taylor plays this coming season as a guy who has matured and accelerated his game? We'll be damn near unstoppable. If he's like he was at the end of last season? There's a question mark. Redshirt Fr Brion Carnes looked sharp in the SG, but Bo has said he has consistency issues. Then there's Cody Green, 4-0 as a starter, but scares the HELL out of every Husker out there when he tucks to run. He's one hell of a player, but not the game changer that Taylor is.

In regards to running back, we're awfully thin. If one of the incoming freshmen doesn't step up, we're going to be in a world of hurt. Rex Burkhead is an INCREDIBLE back, but he cannot take every carry in a system that appears as though it's going to heavily favor the run. We've got Mike Marrow, transfer, coming in as a 'bruiser' but he hasn't been seen yet. And frankly, I'm not willing to bet anything on him until we DO see him.

    Remains to be seen.

As I said, we've got three freshman running backs coming in. All three will be given every chance to get playing time, but I would say a lot of it depends on how Braylon Heard looks. Plain and simple - if he brings something to the offense, or maybe special teams, that we don't have elsewhere? He'll play.

But, of the three incoming, I would say he's the most likely to RS next season.

  • 1)Best Case Scenario: Denard shows no problems picking up Al Borges West-Coast offense, picks up off of next year throws for 3,000 yards and runs for another 1,000 yards with 25 PTD 15 RTD 5 INTs. A RB emerges as a work horse, giving us another 1,000 yards rushing and 15TDs. We make FGs for a chance. Defense shows vast improvement under Greg Mattison, gets up to top 50 in the nation. Leading us to a 10-2 season with victories over State in EL, and Ohio State at home. Vaulting Michigan back into prominence and leading to a NC in 2012.

2)Worst Case Scenario: Denard regresses doesn't pick up the offense, defense continues to struggle leading us into a 6-6 season, with losses to State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.

3)Area of Team That Could Cost Us: Safeties, if we don't get a good player back there, it will give up big plays, and cost us at least one game. Realistically I see us having an 8-4 or 9-3 season. With a bowl win.
