As much as possible, really is beautiful since it's on Daniel Island and surrounded by marshland. Every year they have a Charleston cup type deal where it's 3 MLS teams and the Battery all playing each other which is really cool.

    Yea. Carolina Challenge Cup.

Haha. I'm probably the only (and most avid) follower of US club soccer of all levels.

Yea I try to draw the line somewhere, I watch the u17 and u20 games just because I have kick ass cable but world soccer is so deep that if I let it happen I'll start worrying about Tottenham's u12 prospects. I do try and keep tabs on young Americans playing overseas though.

I haven't exactly declared any European teams, so I just watch all the games I can no matter who is playing.

To be honest, I'll watch anything.

I was that "soccer is cool as a girls sport" guy. A lot of my friends played so they got me watching real soccer when goltv got on cable around 05 and those were the 'dinho and eto days at barca. Then I was just blown away by the 06 world cup and it's been a passion ever since.

    Very similar with me.

Now. I consume hours with it. Soccer and CFB take up about 85% of my sports time. The rest is split between the rest sparingly.

  • Neymar to Barcelona would mean Brazil's three main attackers for WC'14 would be at major clubs. Lucas Moura (21), Oscar (21), Neymar (22) will be an exciting group next summer. I think they will surround a true striker, maybe Damiao if he can stay in form or Pato if he can get his mojo back.

Pato will tear 7 knee ligaments before then.
    brazil attack should be:
    ................sandro......
    ........oscar...........lucas/ganso?
    ...hulk.........................neymar
    ................damiao.............

    SCirish843

  • Hulk sucks, most one footed player in the history of ever. It's shameful.

They should play a 4-2-2-2 with two DMF, two WFs, an AM and a Striker.

    -------------------------------------------------- Damiao -----------------------------------------------------

    ------------- Neymar ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Moura ------

    --------------------------------------------------- Oscar -----------------------------------------------------------

    ------------------------------- Sandro --------------------- Ramires -----------------------

Maxwell ------------------ David Luiz --------------- Thiago Silva ---------------------- Alves

Lucas Moura will be one of the ten scariest players in world football by next summer. Neymar has work to do to get to Lucas' level IYAM. If this group had a world class Striker it would be the favorite IYAM. Damiao is 23, turns 25 during the tournament. He can, should and needs to really improve over the next 16 months.

  • Just gonna ignore the Hulk sucks part, Lucas is dirty though. Certainly more of a pacey player than Neymar but I still think Neymar is more technical. One thing Lucas shows that Neymar hasn't is that Lucas can absolutely sting a ball. 4-2-2 is the traditional selacao formation but I don't like ramires enough to play him over the up and coming attackers.

    SCirish843

  • Show me one highlight of Hulk doing anything off his right foot? All he is is a Roberto Carlos clone as a striker. Darn solid guy to have around but Moura is already beyond him at 20. Hulk is nice to have for set pieces (most end up in the rafters) and for crosses.

    fsufsu

  • Cuz that Roberto Carlos guy was garbage....
Hulk is a top 50 player in the world, no excuses around it.

    SCirish843

  • I wouldn't put him in that but oh well.

  • Yea it's pretty irrlevent. I think it's Germany's or Brazil's tournaments to lose. I think Spain just had a perfect storm of a generation and will now even out, to me only Germany can win it on Brazil turf.

    SCirish843

  • Spain wont go anywhere but I agree the odds arent with them just because they've won before.

Argentina may honestly have the best team on the video game. Their attacking 6-7 options will all be world class. Just gross. No dynamic holding midfielder as far as I am concerned hurts. They could really do damage though with good coaching. Messi, Di Maria, Higuain, Tevez, Aguero, Lavezzi.

Oh they're fantastic on fifa, but their defense is very mediocre as well and all the GKs are just plain bad.

Germany is straight loaded, I think they are better than Brazil, but Brazil being at home might give them an advantage although it could also be too much pressure.

Perfect combination of youth and experience, depth at every level of the field. I'm iffy about Podolski and Gomez being the only striker options but with that midfield it shouldn't matter.

An Italian football mag for the little that's worth. Can't recall which one.

Roberto Carlos also said there was a 90% chance he goes to Barca. Whatever that's worth.

  • At this point the amount of smoke coming up from it points me to assume he is done to Barca, all that is left to find out is if he leaves for Spain in the summer, winter, or next summer. Only one of those is a decent idea. He needs to move asap.

I don't buy any transfers until they are officially announced, no sport has more rumors and false rumors than soccer. However, Neymar really probably only will end up at either Real or Barca and Barca seems the more likely destination at this point so sooner or later I think he ends up there.
