FSU isn't in the top tier. We are good but not elite. IMO we are being overrated (just like last year) at this position.
CB - Greg Reid
Bang/Bust player. He may cause a fumble or let a 50 yard TD go.
CB - Xavier Rhodes
The vanilla icecream of DBs. He's got great size and is good but rarely makes a splash play.
S - LaMarcus Joyner
Baller. Best player in our secondary but is short. He is really good.
S - Terrence Smith
Very good but not consistent enough yet. Has potential to break out this year.
When it's all said and done IMO FSU is a 10-20 best in the nation kind of DB group.

Tie between LSU and Bama. Eric Reid will be the #1 Safety when he comes out. The Badger may not be the best cover corner, but his playmaking ability can't be denied... and I'm sure they have solid depth.
Bama has Milliner who could be a top 1-3 Corner in the draft next year. Probably the #2-3 safety will be back as well. We shouldn't use the star system as comparison because Bama would win that argument, but Mo Claiborne was a 3 star, right?? So it doesn't matter in this argument IMO.
As for FSU... I should know more about them if they do ANYTHING this season. If they suck again, I could care less how good their DB's are.

I am as big of a Bama fan as anyone on here but it's homer talk to say that Milliner is a 1-3 Corner in the draft next year. I know you said "could" but he didn't show me anything on the field that merits that much confidence. He has the talent to do so but until he shows it on the field that is a bit of a stretch.

Probably but he just hasn't shown it to me on the field is all I'm saying. I know that he was a true freshman in 2010 but he was a liability that year and didn't start last year. He has the ability but he's going to have to prove it on a consistent basis this year before I'll call him a first rounder IMO.

I really want to see what HCD and Fulton can do. They both looked real good during the A-Day game. Sunseri and Lester have proved that they are going to be good and have done it in games on a consistent basis. Sunseri less than Lester but I've never seen Sunseri as a liability when he's had the opportunity to play. I think Depriest and Hubbard are going to be All-American type players as well but I'm starting to digress by bringing up LB'rs.

I agree on Rhodes.
I like him and i think he is a pretty damn good CB...but everyone was talking about him goin pro after last year (His SOPHOMORE year). and not just going pro...but being a first rounder.
I was like...for real? Rhodes? wtf man?

That's because he's 6'1, 210, 40 inch vert, and runs a 4.4something.
He's a pretty good corner, and will be a Top 3 corner in the draft. He's not elite by any means, but there's a reason teams throw at Greg Reid more.

I really don't remember Fulton much in the spring game. I only watched it once live, though. That could be a good thing---no big mistakes--and a bad thing---no positive plays.
It's going to be interesting with HCD and Collins being on campus. Both are such highly regarded safeties. HCD had the extra year, though.
Sunseri is going to be a stud for all four years at Alabama. He probably won't play in the NFL, but he is so smart and such a football player he just gets it done. I love that kid (no homo).
