all of y'all are crazy if you don't have miss state in talks for top 5 secondary. we have 7 legit corners 5 legit safeties. Jonathan banks is the #1 corner for 2012. he has been a starter since his fr. year and also Corey Broomfield has been a starter since his fr. year. Darious slay is a shut down corner is is better than banks and Broomfield.

Because these big programs have talent......and a lot of it.
Just to be clear, you are talking about last year's Miss St team that ranked 11th in pass defense in the SEC and had a conference worst 64.5% of passes completed against them, right?

This is why people were talking about him leaving for the NFL after last season (see video)
He was REALLY dominant at times for a RS-Freshman. The obvious assumption is that he would improve enough the next year (last season) to warrant the departure. Injuries and a few inconsistencies prevented that thankfully. I expect him to be a shut down corner this year, he's too damn talented. That's assuming he's 100% healed from his leg injury.

how many big plays did we give up?? do you know? try 6 of over 20 yards which is tops in the nation. the 64.5% completions thats part of our game plan to keep from giving up big plays. we give a 5 yard cushion. jonathan banks is the #1 corner for 2012 according to mel kiper and todd mcshay. he and corey broomfield have a over 60 starts combined. actually darius slay is better than both of them and nickoe whitley is a head banger and will get his share of ints. with our front 7 which will be stellar this year the secondary will be great this year. our d will be top 3 in the sec

I still don't think he will be a shutdown guy.
I think he will be a bit better than last year and if he goes pro will be a 3rd or 4th round kind of pick which is pretty damn good.
If he stays for his Sr year I can see him going in round 1.
It's all speculation though. I see the talent but I think some guys just have a knack for making that big play like Eric Berry. I don't think Rhodes has it. I think he is a talented guy with great size/speed combo who will be a NFL player but I just don't see the 1st round in his future.
