Tyrone Wheatley. He was a man amongst boys. I saw 3 games his senior year, including the state finals. He was fun to watch and a real nice kid.

Joe Pickens Cleveland St Iggy. Won back to back state titles and I think they were national champs his SR year. Went to Ohio State under Cooper, would be like a Braxton now. Cooper had no idea how to use him, wasted his talent going there. I think he ended up a Tight End. Same year in our area was Robert Smith, however didn't see him play live. Iggy beat our ass!! Ask anyone in the late 80's early 90's in NE Ohio about Pickens, he was amazing!

Stan Manning and its not close. USA today RB of the year. No one could tackle the guy.
Downside--he was dumber than a rock. The joke was he couldn't spell his name. I think he went to prison for murder. The guy was Dillon, SC. If you can find highlights on him, you will feel sorry for his opponents. He had free ride anywhere in the nation and couldn't get close to qualifying, kind of sad.
No, I'm not from Dillon either but this guy scared me in high school and I never even tried to tackle him.

Alex Brown - He did everything for his HS team. Play QB, punt and then play OLB. Also he was and still is a very nice guy.
Greg Reid - I lived across the road from Lowndes HS his JR and SR years. My roommate was a Gator fan and for the most part of his SR G5 was committed to UF. So we got tickets to 2 games that year(not as easy as you may think) and each game i left amazed by his play and terrified that he was going to play for a rival. But he had a falling out with Urban and ended up at FSU

Johnathan Gray. Never seen a kid bust out a 300+ yard, 5-6 TD performance with the regularity that he's been doing it for the past 3 years. At this point anything less than that is almost a disappointment.

Was he that bad? Just curious, Im intrigued by Former NFL players who assume they can make the jump from being a player to being a coach. I always had hope for Derrick Brooks to come back and coach at FSU to some capacity.

I think he has value as a recruiter but the linebacker play this year was the worst I've ever seen.

Darnell Autry was a senior at Tempe High (AZ) when I was a freshman. He was a man-child. We were a 90% run offense. We won state his senior year, then sucked royally my remaining years.
