Are you sure? I don't think political affiliation is covered under the discrimination part of wrongful termination. That covers, age, sex, race, and religion.
Beyond that, you can be fired at any reason, at any time, unless prevented by union or Labor contract.

We're really just speaking semantics here. If there is not a direct rule that says you cannot be discriminated against because you are a democrat then we could just change a few words around and say it's because he/she was black, poor, or has a lack of availability to public accommodations. This isn't true, unless you fire people who aren't employed at will. You will probably get sued, but you won't lose unless the people were fired for a protected characteristic, meaning you'd have to prove the political affiliation was a pretext for discrimination based on a protected characteristic. Anyway, the letter is fake, so it's a moot point
