Best RB in the SEC

  • Yeah, I'm a fan of the SEC, like any diehard college football fan should be. I want to start getting ready for the season. So tell me, who is the best running back in the SEC?

Yep. Trent is a close second.

    Lattimore

Trent had two 700+ yard years behind a Heisman trophy winner. I think this is a no brainer. Imagine what he will do with 20-30 carries a game.

  • 1-richardson
2-lattimore (unless he is playing au)
    3-dyer

  • Somewhat related, I am interested to see how the LSU situation plays out with Michael Ford and Spencer Ware.

Anyone have thoughts on that? Seemed like Ford was the guy from that class last season, but as the season went on and coming into this season it seems like Ware is their guy...

  • I don't care the order, but I think Latt and TR are 1,2

noody ever agrees on this. lets just see the year play out. lattimores first year was insane, well so was richardsons when you consider he only got mop up duty for a few games and by the end of the year everyone thought the heisman trophy winner was the second best on the team. last year TR split carries and fough off injuries so his stats were down and all of the sudden he sucks.

i think trent is better because he is more explosive, but lets see how they both can play this year with a healthy body. dyer and davis are right there behind them

Certainly not arguing with you as I agree Trent is a total stud. But keep in mind that last season, Lattimore was used sparingly in the first game, played only one half due to injury against Kentucky, sat against Vandy the next week, and didn't get out of the first quarter against FSU. So, he basically missed 2.5 games. He's put on good weight to carry the load this year and coaches think he looks more explosive than last season.

    Not sayin' just sayin.

this is why I picked him, that added weight will be huge for him in the SEC

  • What Iis Lattimores average yard per carry? I think it's well behind Trent an Dyer who are absolutely the 2 bet backs in the conference.

Auburn and Alabama's OL's last year were light years ahead of ours. YPC is very misleading.

Yeah but carrying the ball 30+ times a game makes up for that pretty quickly, kid is very good but Trent is better IMO but of course I am biased

this one is probably pretty accurate although i would switch one and two but both are really good backs

  • Lattimore and Davis have to be 1 and 2 going into the season as they have proven it on the field.

The next group would be Richardson, Dyer, Poole. Richardson and Dyer will be the focal point of their team's offense this year and will have opportunity to prove they belong in the top 1-2. Poole is an underrated back because he played on an average team last year, but he's a great back. After that I would put Bolden and O Mac in the 3rd tier.

do you think that once Richardson gets more of the carries this year he is going to go off ...have to think the kid is going to be the Dad this year and be gone to the next level having only been the primary ball carrier one year but certainly think that Lattimore and Davis are amazing as well

If you go by YPC then Davis is the man. Saying that Dyer is absolutely one of the top 2 is silly.

There is no way that Davis is a better back then Dyer. The top 3 of the SEC are Lattimore, Richardson, and Dyer in no particular order. Those 3 are light years past the rest of the conference. If Richardson stays healthy then he will most likely be the most productive back this year. Of course I am bias and would say Dyer is better then Lattimore. I do think Dyer is the better back and I also think that Lattimore was being showcased to everyone in the world as the best freshman back ever by espn. I don't think Lattimore will keep the same production but until he proves me right I will have to agree there is an argument for him being No.1.
