If they were a US band, they wouldn't have been nearly as big, IMO. I also wouldn't say that it speaks volumes on the quality of rock just because Ireland loved them some U2.

Those would probably be my top 3 since 1980, and those are great bands that either lasted for decades with success, or completely changed the landscape of rock(GnR).

Lots of quality rock out there. It just doesn't get payed on the radio.

As far as popular rock bands U2 probably is the biggest in the last 30 years. Popular rock sucks in general though with a few exceptions here and there.

I used to be a huge Pumpkins fan but now Billy disappoints me.

Has anything been really all that great since 95? This thread is full of bands that were around in the 80s or early 90s and were most popular then.

So we all have concluded that in terms of bands that have come around recently(since '95), they all suck?

In terms of musical talent,those guys are unmatched. They can cover pretty much anyone and do it just as good and sometimes even sound identical. Jam bands aren't my dig,but those dudes are really good musicians.

Who then, would you say?

Breaking Benjamin, Audioslave, Trapt, Saliva, Papa Roach, Blink 182, Cake, CKY, Rise Against, Dave Matthews Band?
