I haven't spent too much time down in South Florida so I really can't comment on cities there. I guess of the cities I have been to I would say Tampa/St. Pete.

Hmmm, it's between Huntsville and New York City for me. Huntsville does have the largest collection of Anna Klumpke paintings on the East Coast....

I grew up in B'ham but go there only when I have to...my fav larger city would be Huntsville but Mobile has it's charm also. For a small city, Guntersville is nice because of the river/lake. I live on Smith Lake; pics are out our back door.

I love Santa Barbara. Not having been to California too much, I never imagined Santa Barbara to be so secluded and so far north of LA. I never expected the "little town" feel, even though it has world class shopping and eating. Awesome little city.
In Texas, it's not as much one city or town I like most, but an area. I like the Hill Country in south-central Texas, around Austin, Fredericksburg, Boerne, New Braunfels, Comfort, Lake Travis, and the north side of San Antonio.

This. I've lived in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Mobile (currently). My dad is from Huntsville, so I've spent a fair amount of time up there. It's nice if you're younger, but at the end of the day is just too small. Mobile is nice if you're from there, but the social structure down here is pretty unforgiving if you're new in town. Bham has the reasonably sized downtown area with a good bar scene as well as the great suburbs over the mountain, which are hard to beat IMO.

Tough choice in Michigan. So many cool cities and towns. Particularly along the coast of Lake Michigan. I'd have to go with either South Haven or Grand Haven. Awesome beach towns to spend time in during the summer.

Absolutely loved Charleston, but I agree it's probably nicer to visit than actually live there. As far as my state, alot of my time is spent in Ohio but my real "home" is Minnesota. For Ohio I'd say Cincinnatti, the landscape and downtown are both very nice places; Columbus is nice but the downtown really doesn't much to do compared to other big cities (though the new Arena District is usually pretty busy). In Minnesota, the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro-area is really a very nice place to spend a SUMMER afternoon and catch a Twins game. However, the big draw to Minnesota isn't so much the big cities, but the lake retreats. Great if you like the quiet outdoors, which I do.

good call because at least they are close to Columbia and Lake Murray.
I think Camden is underrated.

I have lived in Ohio my whole life. I've been to all the major cities (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincy) and several minor/moderate cities (Lima, Dayton, Springfield, Canton, Akron, Portsmouth, Toledo, Zanesville, Lancaster, etc) and many, many smaller cities, towns, and villages. I have to say that the best is the Columbus and its surrounding suburbs. I've also been to Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, and Detroit, and I have to say that Columbus is the best of those as well...though Pittsburgh has the best local music scene that I know of in the 4 states.
