A lot of weapons in that Texas A&M receiver class. It's a versatile group, too, with guys like Griffin and Seals-Jones and then a speedster like Gonzalez.

  • Good piece, Gerry. This is the first time LSU has been able to not only land two quarterbacks in one class, but two quarterbacks from that far away from Baton Rouge. With both guys set to enroll early, Miles will have a chance to get to work right away on them both.

Easily the best WR class in the nation, imo. I like it a lot.

"Also considered- Notre Dame, Michigan, LSU, Notre Dame, Florida State and UCLA.
"

ND must have a hell of an OL class if they were considered twice.

Unfortunately Griffin likely won't be part of that group on signing day. #academics

A definite discussion, but two quality QB's gives LSU a high probability of having a quality QB out of the class.

At a position with so many variables and a high bust rate because of said variables, not a crazy thing to bet on a quality 2 QB class.

Yeah it's unfortunate. I think had someone advised him to stick to one sport perhaps he would have better grades.

And the Rosenberg Terry football and basketball coaches have done everything they can to help him. The AAU circuit did the exact opposite, as is usually the case.

  • Will be interesting to see if the Kingsbury hire by Tech causes any of A&M's WRs or QBs to waiver. Kenny Hill would be one of the first players I call if I'm Kingsbury.

It will be interesting for sure. Keeping what he has remaining has to priority #1.

  • Not sure how Oregon didn't get any mention for RB with Tyner & Dontre Wilson, and probably going to lock down either Folston or Newby. Oregon will end probably top 3 when it comes to RB's this year.

Should have been mentioned. Agree, and that is on me.

The RB position is definitely one to watch for oregon in the coming weeks.

Good stuff. Hope Henry will consider h back

Bama fans and perhaps BOL analysts are in the minority in thinking Henry is an SEC RB. I agree with others that H-Back is a better fit for his skill-set. I've seen a plethora of RBs that played high school competition where they were the biggest player and best athlete on the field and it didn't translate to college. Fred Beasley at Auburn in the mid 1990s and Richard Samuel at UGA and Ronnie Wingo at Arkansas are guys that immediately come to mind.

I saw Henry play Buford here in ATL Metro in 2011 and he struggled against a defense with college athletes. I could be wrong but I think he'll be at H-Back by the time the 2013 season begins.

Usually when only 1 sector/cohort of a group/population believe something there is usually a biased view that they hold.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

I don't think it's out of the question that Henry ends up a 280-285-pound 3-4 DE by the time he is 21-22-years old. Not saying I think it's lock, but I do think it's a possibility.

  • If Michigan is "also considered" for RB and OL, would we become #1 in either in your opinion if we were to add Derrick Green and David Dawson?
