Not surprising that the SEC homers would try and spin this into some kind of great hire, just look at Wiscy's last two recruiting classes. They weren't getting any better, and certainly weren't going to beat OSU any time soon.

Saban was pretty mediocre when he was in the B1G. Of course, the conference didn't allow him to oversign.
He was very mediocre with the Dolphins. Another place with a level playing field.
Probably a coincedence.
