Hey, I've got a bet for you.

If you can find one single instance where I didn't know what I was talking about in relation to a legal issue, and then validly explain to me, in your words, why I was wrong, I'll take a month-long ban from tBB.

On the other hand, if you can't come up with any case where I clearly didn't know what I was talking about, or you're unable to explain why I was wrong, you take a month-long ban from tBB.

    Do we have a bet?

You guys need to get a room. Wasn't this thread about making fun of the OP for suggesting that Bielema was the best of the B1G?? I say BB is a solid #6 after UFM, O'Brien, Fitzgerald, D'Antonio, and cHoke.

    Yeah, I said it.

Seriously. Was about to say the same.

Do you really put Hoke ahead of him? Just curious to what other than the hype that comes with being a new coach at Michigan has he done to prove anything. Offense is a joke and defense is soft, IMO. Of course, I have only seen them in person once. I think he's going to have a very hard time keeping up with UM if tOSU can get the right QBs.

Well yes our defense is going to be soft when playing against you guys....Almost everyone starting is left over from Rich Rod's "small fast guys" experiment on defense and we were still probably the second best in the Big Ten. We have no deep threat receivers because Rich never recruited any, as well as a never recruiting a highly touted running back.

In the interest of full disclosure, I think that BB does more with less than any other coach in the country much less the B1G. He routinely recruits huge OL, good to great RBs, and a serviceable D that usually has 2-3 star ratings and he does wonders. Say what you want about the B1G, but we were the best conference for years before the SEC realigned. The crown is yours now, but beware of things to come.

Was high on Hoke last season and Borges as well. I think they did a horrible job this season. I think Michigan already was the 2nd most talented team in the B1G, but probably no better than 4th in a very weak B1G.

I just think he did a poor this season.

I agree. I think he's been great. Littly b!tchy for my taste, but has done a great job. The SEC has had some programs step up over the years so there are more options as far as teams capable of being great than other conferences, but it's not like in any one year, it's head and shoulders ahead.

The B1G is down at the moment, but is also the only other conference with more than 2 elite programs when you look at Michigan, tOSU, Penn St, and Nebraska. Penn St is in for a rough road, but if Michigan and Nebraska can consistantly win, it won't be down long.

They had some WTF moments that's for sure. Alabama game doesn't count. We're not ready for that yet.

    1. Notre Dame game sure Denard threw a lot of picks, but they put him in a terrible position to begin with. I don't even know how many times we were threatening to score with short passes then they'd call long passes and no one would be open.

    2. Nebraska game we didn't really have much we could do. Gardner had been playing wide receiver (since we're on the short end at that position) so obviously he really wasn't in position to know the playbook. Then Bellomy didn't have a clue. I still think overall we were a better team than Nebraska.

    3. 2nd half gameplan against osu was terrible and everyone knows it. Yeah let's run 5' 6'' 180 pound running back up the middle on 3rd down. thumbdown

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's the best, but after Meyer and maybe BOB, there's a lot of meh in the B1G, so it would have been no stretch to say he was possibly #3.

My question is, has a HC of a 3 time defending major conference champion ever left for a middle of the pack job in another conference like this before?

It would be like Miles leaving for Michigan St, Arizona St, or Ga Tech.

    This is a fairer summary.

  • "The SEC can claim every championship, dominate every bowl and obliterate every attendance record. It can squeeze every last stinking cent from television networks. If you want to mark the precise moment the Confederate flag was planted on the back of the lumbering, wheezing remnants of the Big Ten, this is it.

Bret Bielema to Arkansas is not just the SEC beating the Big Ten on the field, or in some nebulous arms race. It's beating the Big Ten for the heart of its prize-winning meathead"

"At age 42, the only reason Bret Bielema would leave Wisconsin for Arkansas, the single factor that could conceivably convince him to leave the most stable, enviable seat in the conference that raised him, is that he considers a middle-of-the-pack SEC job a step up from the top of the Big Ten.

No doubt he'll frame the decision as " a new challenge," or something along those lines, but implicit in that is the assumption that it will be a greater challenge. That getting Arkansas to the top – over Alabama, LSU and now Texas A&M in the division, and Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in the other – is the next logical step for someone who has proven his mettle against Ohio State, Michigan and Nebraska. From rubbing shoulders with Meyer, Hoke and Pelini to chasing recruits with Saban, Miles and Spurrier. Yessir, Bret Bielema is moving up in the world"

I don't feel like going to find it, but in the thread about a judge sentencing a kid to go to church you were screaming about how it was not fair and blahblahblah when it was an obvious plea bargain case and the kid absolutely knew his sentence before he plead guilty.

  • Hilarious..the coaching tree out of Ohio and BIG country reaches all over the country. The coaching minds that are great, most were nurtured and taught right out of the mid-west. Great coaches from that tree have found success coaching in the SEC....god-almighty Saban comes from that coaching tree (Kent State), Les Miles (Michigan)..who else has won NCs down there?

I'll love it if an Iowa boy makes it in Arkansas - by the way, don't they have more money than any of you in the SEC? That's how you win in the SEC...hire the great coaching minds out of the mid-west!!!

Don't forget about Urb. An Ohio boy and assistant at tOSU before coaching at Bowling Green, Utah, and then on to Florida where he dominated.

Fortunately for you, your team is one of the programs that is able/willing to keep up. Making a ruthless move like hiring someone like Meyer and letting him have full control and giving what he asks for is something that a lot of the "Old School" people up there don't have the stomach to do.

Frankly, it is what is holding Auburn down as well, IMO.

Tradition is great and helps, but the past can only help you so much tomorrow.

Lulz. This isn't the first time I've called out your horrible tattoo, every time it's been brought up until now you have disappeared.

Way to defend your "sweet" tattoo.

Superfan here putting his beloved bucks on his shoulder. Lol only few are stupid enough to get a tattoo of something related to their favorite athlete or team.

Thinking of LeBron tattoo on my arm, would look sweet IMO. lol

Maybe because he likes The Bucks more than snakes & daggers or maybe that cool eyeball with wings. I can see not getting a tat of your favorite athlete but your team is your team and if that represents him better than a cool skull with an American flag in the background so be it. I rarely agree with az but your faux-insults are weak at best.

The fact that he begins the majority of his "insults" by saying 'lulz' almost immediately makes my brain skip over his posts.

When he is wrong he resorts to "f@ggot" and rage quits. Dude is the epitome of a complete lame. 'lulz'

Oh yes..and the coaches know that they can pull in talent that could not sniff their way into BIG universities due to academics...isn't that a reason for over signing in the SEC...because the coaches lose several kids because they are unable to meet the minimum requirements? I heard this from my SIL and others who live in the region, not my opinion - nor did I make it up.
