Best ever?

That is what I was saying in my original statement when it came to Griffey. If it wasn't for his injuries, I think he would be hands down the best player of all time. One hell of a center fielder along with the sweetest swing I've ever seen in my life. There was also never a question of him using steroids for his power. He was always pretty damn skinny until he got fat from not being able to work out due to his injuries. Sad story honestly.

I agree with you on the injuries, I wish we could have seen him have a healthy carrer. I still hold a grudge against him though. I went to see him play like 8 times and he got scratched from the lineup every time.

    Bingo

What is your excuse for the players that were downing greenies like flinstone vitamins for decades? Like it or not it was a part of the game and a HUGE part for a majority of the players.

Why do they have to cheat like that? Is it because the majority is non-white and where they come from that's ok? Just askin'.

What the fvck are you talking about. There were just as many white players taking roids as black dudes. Pitchers, hitters, fielders and everyone else was taking the stuff. The real number is probably 8 out of 10 players in the majors were on roids at one time. He was still awesome before that.

You might wanna rethink that one. If you've been around professional sports you see that everyone is trying to gain an edge, regardless of race.

Did Michael Jordan, Ali, Babe Ruth, Wayne Gretzky and Barry Sanders take ''vitamins''?

How the hell should I know? I'm just giving my opinion. I promise that I didn't mean to chap your ass or anything.

Who knows. Methamphetamines were quite common and there was no testing. You do realize that none of the major sports test for the best PED there is right?

    Who should it be.

Ruth is the biggest sporting figure in American history. Kings and queens wanted to be in the presence of the Babe. The man was a God. Hit tennis balls with tree trunks over 500ft parks. Hell they built a palace for the man. Was and still is the GOAT.

Football, baseball, basketball, and hockey don't test for hgh. I've gone through the MLB testing...they implemented blood tests for milb this year but that's it.

Everything you mentioned has nothing to do with being the best that played a sport of all time. Greatest entertainer? Maybe you have an argument.

He was a fat drunk that was great at entertaining royalty. That doesn't make him the best at sports of all time. It makes him The Situation.

The man hit more home runs than entire teams. Has more shutout world series innings from the bump than any pitcher in history. He's a Greek god. Unequaled from anyone.

I don't know if I have a problem with someone saying Ruth was the greatest (in baseball). You could name ten players and I really wouldn't argue any of them. My issue is with Irishimpact saying that Bonds isn't in that same discussion. I can't argue Ruth because it has been said he was a better pitcher than he was a hitter.

My issue was that he said Ruth was the greatest Sportsman (aka: athlete) of all-time. That's just laughable.

    lol Eh, I'm done.

    I know a few things:

    1. You're a Lebron "fan", so you're never going to give MJ his due.
    2. There are many more MLB players that could be considered best ever at their sport than NBA players. Seriously, list the Top-Tier all time. There's much more an argument in MLB, and that's just one sport.

If you really think about it that's a silly thing to say as far as the NFL goes. I don’t think HGH is a problem in the pro sports. I think the more we talk about it, the bigger problem it will become, because people who had no idea it existed are now being told it’s a wonder drug that can’t be tested for. The real harm with all this HGH talk is the effect it will have on high school and college sports. If those kids think their sports heroes are on something, they’re going to get on it too. But from everything I’ve read, the effects of HGH aren’t that drastic. So why is a pro athlete going to bother with that uncertainty? Why seek out, acquire, and inject a substance that might help them out a tiny bit?

    Wait, wait, wait,

Your saying Bonds can't be the best baseball player of all time because of steroid speculation but at the same time saying that HGH isn't a problem in pro sports? What in the fvck is your point?

I said MJ was the best ever. To dribble a basketball. But do a little reading and marvel at George Hurman Ruth. Greatest American Sporting figure ever. That's really an easy statement. Did it all before tv as well. Built the most storied palace since the Colisum for the man. History is a cool thing.

    GOAT.

  • Bonds was one of the most well rounded ball players when he was in pitt. Take all the Giants time and steroids BS out of it and he was one of the most talented.

Just to put my two cents in I put Magic Johnson as number one and hate the Lakers.

    That being said, I agree.

    Magic Johnson
    Michael Jordan
    Bill Russell
    Wilt Chamberlain
    Larry Bird
    Jerry West
    Kareem Abdul Jabaar
    Shaq

are the only names that should really be in the discussion IYAM right now minus a name or two.

There are a couple of guys playing right now that will be in the discussion soon enough as well though. I personally like Magic because of his versatility.
