I figured I would start this thread as pretty soon hitting will be illegal in football unless you grab them by the jersey and wrestle them to the ground with the tackler having to land first ala greco roman wrestling.

Will Allen hit on Willis McGahee in the 2003 National Championship Game. Not so much because of it being a major league collision like the other plays named here but because it was just hard to watch. You don't see plays with that much shock factor very often.

How sad is it that the NFL used to have segments dedicated to massive hits, to now trying to eliminate them from the game?

Is started a thread on it a week ago, but NFL network did its " plays of the year " highlight
It was 3 mins long and only had one big hit in the entire segment
They might as well not even play defense anymore in the NFL, just have the offense run around for 60 mins
