BUFORD, Ga.- Several of the top quarterback prospects for the next two cycles competed at Friday's Elite 11 regional workout at Buford High.

I think the DJ Gillins kid was by far the best prospect there when matching him up with his video. I'll be shocked if he isn't one of the most coveted QB's in the country in 2014. Best I have seen in the 2014 class thus far based on this or a 7-on-7 setting + video or game.

And I do think the 2014's on hand yesterday were very impressive - as pure prospects. They impressed us more than the 2013's, honestly.

  • It is always good to have as many good QB's as you can. If McCarron has an exceptional year, we could lose him after this season. Although I like Phillip Sims and think he has improved, it is better to have several in the waiting.

  • Sounds like FSU may have their 2014 QB there. We aren't taking one this year unless it's a guy who can also play WR/S.

Would be a good situation for him.

  • So how/why was it that Ramsey didnt get the elite 11 invite?

  • UGA is pretty well set for 2013, but I would guess they might want to get a recruit for 2014. A pretty impressive bunch of folks at that camp, so maybe UGA is in the ear of a few of those 2014 prospects.

Tyler Harris will be UGA's guy in 2014.

That recruitment will be interesting. Harris and Ramsey work with the same QB coach. Will they go to the same program back-to-back? Time will tell, but one would think the chances have to be somewhat low.

Harris is a big-time DAWG. We'll see what he does, but he loves UGA.

  • So Ronald Monroe isn't the best 2014 QB...pffft

  • IMO Josh Dobbs is the best QB in Georgia. He actually made top 6 at the Dallas Elite 11 Regional as he's an elite baseball player and his team got to play against their rival at The Braves "Turner Field" yesterday when the Atlanta Elite 11 was taking place.

Dobbs dominated at the Georgia Rising Seniors Game in throwing for 227 yards and 3TDs in the game. The East and West teams had 3 QBs each but Dobbs led the East team on all 3 of their scoring drives. Kid transferred from a private school to Alpharetta and was a 1st year starter in 2011. He actually led the state in passing yards during the Regular Season even though he played in the largest class. Dobbs is a baller.

I attended the game and he looked much better than Eddie Printz, Anthony Jennngs (winner of Atlanta Elite 11) and Cole Seagraves. The East was unstoppable with Dobbs at QB.

Junior QB thrives in all-star game

ATLANTA — A junior quarterback from Alpharetta, Ga., with only one scholarship offer to date turned out to be the offensive star of Fridays Georgia Junior Bowl.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

Not sure, but I am 99.9 percent sure Ramsey will be invited.
