In the best Elite 11 regional yet, the top QB in the country fittingly emerged as the top performer of the event. See who joined Max Browne on our list of top performers.

  • Johnny Stanton is the next Jake Locker. The kid is a baller.
    Barton, was Troy Williams there?

    Troy Williams wasn't there.

And I'm with you on Stanton. I love the kid. I cringe at the idea of throwing Tebow comparisons around but Stanton is the one guy I actually don't mind comparing to Tebow because he's so athletic, such a physical runner, has all the intangibles and he's just a little raw as a passer but still gets the job done.

Will be a winner wherever he goes.

I know a lot of PAC 12 teams want Troy Williams or Hayden Rettig, but when do you think some of these other QBs will get PAC 12 offers? Will they have to wait out Williams and Rettig?

I actually never really noticed him. i tried to track him down but never did find him. He didn't stand out to me anyway.

  • Stanton is much more of a runner than passer at this point in time. Played well in the CIF playoffs last year though. Big kid

  • Thanks Barton. Wish we would sign Stanton and put him in wildcat packages/zone read packages as a change of pace.

Right. He gave Redfield something to think about. The 2:44 mark.

He visited but want him as an athlete, defense I believe. We like moving HS QB's to safeties. Didn't offer, seems like he's set on QB. Is UW the leader?

As Barton said, the kid can make all the throws. He's a big-time-clutch player.....a winner and does whatever it takes to win. During that playoff run you mentioned, I saw him play twice in person and he made some very tough passes look easy.

I don't think he really has a leader. Washington has offered as an athlete and he'd rather play QB so I wouldn't put them on top.

Stanton goes 220 already, that would be one massive safety. I have heard he is also the strongest guy on the SM team; a team which had probably the best(and maybe biggest) O-line in the country last year.

Bateman will be your typical BAMA game manager, but he's not that great.

Post that on BOL. That will go over really well.

I saw a thread there where they were saying that they just pulled the most highly recruited player EVER from the state of Utah. I guess they forgot Halot Ngata from Highland, Utah who was the #1 player in country, not a top 5-10 QB. He'll be another McElroy, which sure is heck isn't a bad thing.

  • Bateman had a terrible day there. The wind may have caused it but its a little surprising he was even in the top ten.

The kid has the biggest calves/legs I've ever seen on a skill player. He's a beast.

He could be a QB/S/LB/FB. As a college football player, I think it's a mistake to have him anywhere other than QB thought. He's too good of a competitor and can beat you in too many different ways.

Are you referring to the finals of this event? In my opinion, outside of Max Browne, everyone was very close. Just because my top 7 isn't exactly like the coaches' top 7. There is a very small difference between my top 7 and theirs anyway.

ESPN has a writeup on their site as well if you want to go strictly off of their observations.

  • A little surprised the Arizona schools who both want a running QB are not after him more.

  • I would not go to UW right now as QB prospect. Cyler Miles will be a future star there.
